Me, I'm 72 which puts me right into the demographic which loved the Beatles. I don't love the Beatles, never did. I'm not sure they were even the best band out of Liverpool, let alone the whole of England. Give me the Stones or the Yardbirds- hell, even the Kinks.

The Beatles...hmmm. Very early on they were pretty unique and strung together an amazing number of top hits. That's great and all, but who really listens to 'Love Me Do' all that much these days. At the time, "Wow! What's this?" Now...meh. I still dig some of their mid run stuff like Rubber Soul, the darker stuff. After that there were some good tunes, some very good, but tons of silly, forgettable tunes.

The Yardbirds? Meh. The Kinks? OK. The Stones? Some good stuff. From that country and that time period The Who are the only band that I still play much.

That said, I'm probably a poor judge. I think the Clash and the Sex Pistols are tame sellouts.

99% of guitar solos suck. They're the musical equivalent of movie car chases. Yawn.

Agree with most of what you said (I can tolerate fake breasts).

The movie thing is part of why I much prefer non-fiction to fiction…I at least need things to be realistic in my movies for me to buy in, but over the top car chances, fighting, or guns gets me to check out pretty quickly.

Although all were immensely popular during my high school and college days, I'm not a fan of Springsteen, Billy Joel, John Mellencamp and U2.

Been to several Springsteen concerts in the hope that he actually plays songs that I know which are at least 10-15, but besides playing born to run he plays none. Never again!!

I hate when I go to concerts and they play snip it’s of there best songs and then play extended songs that suck!! David spade did a great comedic routine on concerts not playing there best stuff and instead play snip it’s. He was spot on. Where the hell is big country now. Lol

Yeah I didn't want to go too negative, but I pretty much reject all current pop culture. I especially hate network TV. My culture comes from 40 year old pieces of plastic that I spin around. And books.
