We won't know until January when they play the game for the national championship. Whoever wins that game is the best team.

I agree that Alabama is a great team and definitely approaching the top 5, but prior to LSU their games went like this:

34-0 against a Missou team that had just lost their QB and had to start Drew Pyne
24-17 loss to Tennessee
27-25 win over South Carolina (granted SC is much better than people thought)
40-35 loss at Vandy

If the eventual brackets (whatever they end up being) were to be played ten times, I think you could have 6-7 different winners, with no team winning more than maybe 2-3 times at the most.

Many of these teams have played very very well at times, but also very very poorly at times. All season there have been incredibly lucky plays and incredibly unlucky plays.

And don’t underestimate the impact (pro and con) of officiating calls (or non calls) and the timing of reviews (or non reviews).

And, an Ohowihate fan who is kind of a friend of mine is fearful the suckeyes somehow get a first round against the Tide.
Personally, I may soil myself if that happened and Bama beat them.
If they play make sure you have lots of paper towels!

I have Oregon now but Alabama is starting to really come on and could be peaking at the end of the season which obviously is what every coach wants. Alabama can beat anyone.

If Coach Franklin is able to tighten down the screws he can take this Nittany Lion team deep in this new playoff format. That may start by facing Ole Miss in his first game, which in my opinion is a good thing, not bad. Confidence is paramount and a hot team with momentum will beat a flat Oregon, OSU or Texas team.
