It's going to be a revolving door whichever route they take. You buy 2 years hiring from within, but get a lesser product (usually). I'd love to have USC's DC, but he just re-upped and he would be a 2 year guy anyway.
PSU's defense is on auto pilot. That's the least of my concern. I'd like to hire Bob Rotella for Drew, and some Co-Ed strippers for incoming receivers.
I doubt it on Knowles, but I feel we owe them as it relates to snagging some good off their staff.https://www.statecollege.com/articl...g-could-it-signal-defensive-coordinator-hire/
According to the article, this was supposed to happen today. But got put off until Thursday. Does that maybe signal the new hire may be coming from one of the teams playing tonight? I have seen Knowles name thrown about, but haven't seen much about Al Golden. What are the chances that the new hire is coaching tonight, and they are waiting until the dust settles to announce? Would Knowles really leave Ohio State for us? Would Golden want to come back to PSU?
Seems like it. Unless they are hiring someone from the teams that played last night, everyone should have been available for interviews etc. Maybe it’s just me being impatient. Now that I think about it, when they hired Moorhead, I think that process took awhile also.is it?
It's long past time to DOGE PSU's administrative bloat.
Penn State’s Board of Trustees’ Committee on Equity and Human Resources, which oversees high-paying contracts, has again pushed back the meeting that could signal the conclusion to the search for the football program’s vacant defensive coordinator position.
The Board last week originally scheduled two meetings. The first was supposed to commence on Friday, Jan. 17 and the second was scheduled for 9 a.m. ET on Monday, Jan. 20. Those have both been cancelled. A third meeting has been scheduled in place of those two, and is set to begin with an executive session at 8 a.m. ET followed by a public session at 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 23
