Who would have won if they played? 2017 Gamecock WBB or 2022 Champs?

Which team would have won the game, particularly looking at depth chart and players

2017 2022/23
Aja Wilson Aliyah Boston
Alaina Coates Victaria Saxton
Kaela Davis Brea Beal
Allisha Gray Zia Cooke
Ty harris Destanni Henderson
Bench Players
Alexis Jennings Kamilla Cardosa
Bianca Cuevas Moore Destiny Littleton
Kiki Harrington Laticia Amiehere
Doniyah Cliney Lele Grissett

There are other players but these seem to be the main players. I think last years squad had more speed that 2017 and size would be fairly close. It seems like it would be good and would love to see a Wilson vs Boston matchup.
Who you got? I say 2022 by 3-5 pts.

Alexis Jennings redshirted the national championship season, so you have to remove her from equation

Would have to go with ‘22 team. They were a complete team with depth. ‘17 squad was short handed as Coates was injured and Jennings was ineligible that year. I agree with the possibility that the ‘20 team that didn’t get their shot, may be the best in Dawn’s time at USC.

This is actually a good question. When looking at the stats for the season it's actually really close. The 2017 team scored an average 6 points more than the the 2020 team and the 2020 team held teams to about 6 less points than the 2017 team.

I would give the slight edge to the 2022 team due to the starters already having years of chemistry together. In terms of the pecking order of best teams I would rank them as followed

1. 2023
2. 2020
3. 2022
4. 2017
5.2015
(2021 a very close 6th)

We may very well see that Wilson vs Boston matchup in the professional ranks soon.

If you're ranking is correct (and I'm not disputing it), wow just wow. That would mean that our 2 national title teams are 3rd and 4th on list.

Prior to this season, I thought the 2020 season was our best team. They were well rounded both offensively and defensively and likely would have also won a national title if it wasn't for Covid cancelling the tournament. This year's team is similar but the depth is what sets them apart.
