I know its not Jersey but MD beachs will be crazy too. Bay bridge traffic will be shear craziness Friday
I'm heading to Bethany Friday night and back home Monday. I'm expecting to see about a billion of my closest friends on highways.
I find this thread interesting in northeast dialect. Is it "going down to the shore" or "going down the shore"?Me after 10 minutes DOWN. THE. SHORE.:
OCNJ for me. It’s America’s Greatest Family Resort. I’m an owner now for 23 years and spend lots of time there now since I’m retired. Had most of the house re- done over the winter and it’s all like new now. I’ve been back and forth since early May and heading back “down the shore” today for the long weekend. Got the grill ready for some swordfish from Mike’s seafood tonight, corn on the cob, Italian bread, Pinot Grigio. Also, let’s not forget what Memorial Day is all about and honor those who made the sacrifice so that we can enjoy ourselves and our freedoms.

It's really a Phildelphia/South Jersey-Mid Jersey thing. It's "going down the shore". Once there, you may get in the "wooder".
I hate people. Free time to go to the beach and every single one will be overflowing with gross people all weekend long. Even Ft. Desoto and Honeymoon Island will be teeming with humans. I wish I had a boat to go to Caladisi Island.
Us locals have been talking about the return of the Shoobies this week. This is the time I don’t go out to dinner any more now until early September.

My inlaws live there, so we will likely be there that weekend as well. I can see myself retiring there some day.

LOL thats too easy. She is an anti 'shore' snob, she wants her water green/blue and above 60 F!!! She wants to go to Hilton Head. and since we live in WV, its about the same time to go to HH as it is to do the Dewey thing. Now I will say, I drug my current ex wife to Dewey for our honeymoon. She wasnt so sure about that, come to find out she still goes to Dewey ever year!!! 30 yrs later!
There isn't any sand and the beach is like concrete. A lot of people like it though.Point State Park?

How's the beach there? The storm did a number on them in Bethany and South Bethany. Fenwick got hit but I didn't think it was as bad as the others.
Heading to Wildwood Crest - Friday at noon getting Daughter out early from school and wife from work - drive will still suck I bet still. I always swear i won't go down on Holiday Weekends but always do - will try to get out early Monday though otherwise a 2 1/2 drive turns into 6. And it's always "down the Shore" even if you are going North to get there.

The beach has been narrowed but I’ve seen worse. The dunes look good.
