Why wasn't Sellers involved somehow last night?

Rattler’s mobility was not an issue. I can think of at least three play off the top of my head when he was completely surrounded but somehow escaped without getting sacked.

Clemson's defense was perfect storm for us. Their strength was our weakness and we couldn't get Spencer the extra second he needed to make the passes. When he did, our receivers were getting mugged or couldn't get separation.

Sellers would not have made a difference. Our issue is the offense of line. They were not good enough to run block or pass block. It wasn't the play calling. If they can't block, it limits what you can do. The receivers also dropped too many balls all night. This included XL at times. The backwards pass killed any chance of winning a close game. The defense played well enough to win giving up 3 FG's. Hopefully our o line grows up between now and next season along with maybe getting someone from the portal.

You don’t eat your young. Gain nothing by putting him in that situation. He’s a stud and he knows it. It’s his team going forward and will be able to gain more confidence after this Spring.

Heard on the talk show after the game that Sellers had a sore shoulder from the KY game and he was held out as a precaution. I don’t think he even dressed.

Most sacks?
Haha. I'm on your side on this one. I would have played him 50-50 (worst case) over the last three games. A knucklehead on this board told me we need to play Rattler exclusively to set the single season passing record.

He was dressed in warm-ups and throwing passes, but told the coaches his shoulder was sore. He was only to be used in an emergency situation.

You don’t gain anything by throwing a true freshman up against a D like that
Reactionary people don't see that. They make knee-jerk suggestions they've heard other people make.

We had a top-tier quarterback whose team was being overwhelmed by the other team. Going to a freshman was not going to be the answer.

Besides, if this was Rattler's last game here, which I expect it was, then I'm glad he got to finish it (while still not broken in half).
