Wonder how long Vince Lombardi would last today on the college level?

Who knows? It all depends on how he would have adjusted. Of course, there's always the NFL coach not necessarily being a good college coach and vice versa.

I think a guy like a Bear Bryant could have adjusted. And there are still some badass coaches out there like Saban.

Lombardi was like Bear Bryant, in that they didn't coach football, they coached people. Lombardi would've adjusted his methods to fit whatever he needed. Don't forget that he coached in the 1960's, which wasn't exactly the most peaceful time in American history, and had a lot of players who were a bit counterculture in their thinking. He coached partiers like Paul Hornung and Max McGee (who scored a couple TD's in Super Bowl II with no sleep and a hangover).

Lombardi was a master motivator who knew which buttons to push with each player.

Yeah, case in point that South Florida coach named Jim Leavitt who grabbed a player by the throat and allegedly punched his *** out: http://ncaafootball.fanhouse.com/2009/12/14/sources-south-floridas-leavitt-struck-player/

I've always thought Leavitt would be the next shoe that dropped. The few times i've seen South Florida play on tv, Leavitt's *** will rage at some point during a game toward a player, ref or something else.
