This was just posted on a friend's FB page. Unbelievable.

"young family from my hometown were viciously pulled from the car leaving the game in WV last night. The wife (who is pregnant) was thrown to the ground and her husband was beaten severely. He is in hospital and will be undergoing surgery. Please pray for this sweet family - The Masons."

But I'm going to need to see some sort of link to a reputable news story about this before I believe it (Facebook updates or TigerDroppings posts don't count). Even after the YouTube films of WVa. fans chucking full beers at Maryland fans with Nu-Metal blaring in the background, after the accounts by our own posters, after I've experienced their fans (the classy ones who travel) firsthand, this seems beyond the pale, even for them. I'm holding out a shred of hope for humanity here.<div>

My wife knows the family. Hannah, his wife, posted a pic on facebook this morning but took it down immediately after because they didn't want people posting it all over the net. He looked pretty bad, but was awake and his eyes weren't as swollen as I would've thought. He and his family live in Pittsbrug now. originally from Natchez. She and the baby are fine and he's going to have surgery as soon as the swelling goes down.

I don't know if this will make national news, but if it doesn't it's a damn shame. We throw a water bottle at a ref and get plastered all over the news. WVU fans pull a family from a car and beat the hell out of a guy in front of his pregnant wife and throw her to the ground in the process. I'm pretty pissed off about the whole thing. I've got friends that are WVU fans, but as a fanbase, they suck.
