Way back in the Rivals McAndrew days I started a thread about older car daily drivers. My dream daily driver back then was a Toyota FJ62 Landcruiser. Well, last fall I sold my 2020 F250 and bought a 1988 FJ62. it’s in really good survivor shape and only needed a new radio.

I’ve also just bought a 92 F150 single cab, 5 speed, L6 4.9/300 engine. I bought it from a dad whose 18 year old son had it before joining the Air Force. This is a little rougher, but it was cheap. Body is at least repaired and painted, the interior is needing work, the gas gauge doesn’t work and an emissions sensor is sending error codes. This brings me back to my younger days when all I could afford was a beat up **** box.

I’m loving life!

Please tell me about your older projects or daily drivers?

I had a Ford truck with that 300 straight 6 years ago, that engine was as reliable as an anvil- they run forever.

Really? Is it that hard to look at the top of the board and see how my name is spelled?

Sorry! First, I am the worlds worse speller. Knowing that, I always second guess myself. I was going to double check but then my better half rushed me.

I don’t know if this qualifies but I’m still driving my 5-speed 2004 Accord. We just passed 240K on Thursday. I have a couple other cars, but this one is hard to send to pasture, as you can probably tell. I do drive it daily to work

Late 80’s I helped a friend do a frame off restoration of a 1960 356 A Porsche . It was quite a learning experience.

I drive a '12 Mazda 6 daily with 252K on it. Been the best, most reliable car I've ever purchased.

Why do you get so upset about your last name?

Mc vs Mac isn’t something to lose sleep over nor is the inadvertent addition of pluralization of your last name.

I still have my 2013 VW Jetta TDi sportwagon that I used for a longish commute to previous job. I now work remotely from home so none of my vehicles get heavy mileage anymore.
