You are the AD. What is your message to Lebby in your post-season meeting?....

Mine would depend on his plan for his DC. If he has decided to move on from Hutz I would want to know what his plan for replacing him was but be a little more conciliatory about a year 3 and beyond. If he has decided to stick with Hutzler I would let him know that as HC he can make that call but in doing so his job is also on the line next year if we see anything close to what we had this year.

I hope Lebby can right the ship but right now the vibe is just not there. This is the second worst year one vibe I have every seen with last season being the worst.

I would tell him that whoever hired him to be a first time head coach without making sure he was going to get an experienced DC is a 17ing moron, and whoever approved a four year guarantee for Hutzler should be investigated for fraud, because surely they took a kickback to give a guaranteed salary like that to a completely unqualified DC. I'd tell him whoever hired him appeared to want him to fail and so was giving him enough rope to do stupid things, but that if he wants to make it to year three, he better stop taking the opportunity to do stupid stuff just because his dumbass of a boss keeps offering it to him.

Plastic man needs to tell them both unacceptable and find experience. First selmon first then hire an AD that understands you need experience in the SEC if you want to survive. New AD gets to tell Lebby get it right next year to 6 wins or you are done ain't got time for 2-10 3-9 4-8 BS. Any sec team should go 4-8 minimum every year otherwise you ain't worth being in the SEC

I can't wait to see what this board does when Lebby is given his year extension at the end of the season. It's tradition at MSU to do that.

How in the blue hell could you possibly view this year as being better than last year? Not a single good thing or glimmer of hope has happened anywhere.

People have lost their damn minds about Arnett and last year. If I knew then what I know now, I would have said we should have kept Arnett. This year would have probably been 3-9 or 4-8, but we'd be in much better position to fire everyone and start over next year instead of being locked into 3 more years paying these clowns. Only years remotely close to the unmitigated disaster in my memory this season are 2002 and 1988.

Get your coaches on the recruiting trail and make sure they are high profile. Talking to moms and dads, coaches, girlfriends. Going to basketball games, awards ceremonies etc

You have to demote Hutzler and hire a DC with Power 5 experience. Suck it up and make the call. No more friend hires. If you don’t want to fire him provide the receipts as to why I should not do it myself.

This is correct. Fire Z, staff and perhaps pick off Salmon too.

After we both sat down together, I wouldn’t say anything at first. Then I’d let out a silent but deadly fart, and ask him if he **** his pants, again.

Worst offseason vibes since 2007, maybe 2002?

Good point. Just goes to show our athletic department took a bad situation and somehow made it worse.

but yes give them more money because they asked. They obviously didn't know what they were doing to get it right to at least keep winning at the same level that Arnett did last year.

Hey Jeff, how's the family? Good, you finished your first year how would you rate your performance? Interesting, you've got 1 more year to prove yourself. Either you find a way to get 6 wins or this time next year we won't be having this meeting.

I view it as a Selmon problem. He is the one that hired his buddy Lebby from his prior university. Message to Selmon quit accepting mediocrity from the head coach down to the lowest towel boy. Plus get off your *** and start marketing our university.

You're giving Selmon too much credit. You're sssuning he knows how to market. He doesn't. He's as lost as a goose. I saw him several times Saturday and he doesn't interact with fans and in the third quarter he walked down to the field and not a soul spoke to him. He just walked over and stood behind the kicker's practice net. That dude is next level lost in this job. My brother's daughter is best friends with his daughter and has confirmed that he's had several interviews. One of them with a HBCU, oddly enough. He's short timing it and has been trying to get out since not long after he got here.

I also was at the game against Mizzo. I was down at the fence most of the game to take pictures of my granddaughter senior year as co-ed cheerleader. I also noticed Selmon walking around the field and he might have spoke to one person/fan/alum.
