Sullivan Absher
Notre Dame
Recruiting Class of 2023
As a College Recruit
Big-framed offensive tackle who uses strength, flexibility and movement skills to dominate as a run blocker. Checks in at over 6-foot-6 and around 295-300 pounds with long arms. Plays in an option offense at the high school level and is primarily used as a run blocker. Fires off the ball and dominates opposing defensive linemen at the point of attack. Has the flexibility to get underneath the pads of shorter defensive linemen. Physical and locks on to defenders, often driving them 15 yards downfield. Shows a penchant for finishing blocks with violence. Excels as a blocker at the second level. A natural, light-footed mover with outstanding feet. Locates and locks on to second level defenders. Looks to be a weapon in the run game as a puller. Does not pass block often in his high school offense and remains a projection in that regard. Does not have some of the athletic markers via camps or other sports of some fellow top-rated offensive linemen.
Reminds Us Of
Sullivan Absher's size and physical run-blocking is reminiscent of Jack Conklin. Absher is a much more touted high school prospect than Conklin, but we could see him becoming a similar type of right tackle down the line.
