Alabama football has five players included on the Associated Press All-America team, which came out on Monday morning.

Outside linebacker Will Anderson Jr. is the Crimson Tide standout to make the first team, but defensive Brian Branch was a second-team selection. Plus, running back Jahymr Gibbs (all-purpose), cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry and safety Jordan Battle were all selected for the third team.

With Anderson getting his recognition by the AP, that means he’s now a consensus All-American.

In order to achieve that status, a player has to be recognized as a first-team selection by three of the five outlets. Those outlets include the AP, Football Writers Association of American (FWAA), Sporting News, American Football Coaches Assocation (AFCA) and the Walter Camp Foundation. If a player gets all five, then they earn unanimous All-American status.

The Sporting News and AFCA have yet to released their teams, so we’ll have to wait and see if Anderson gets it. Either way, he’s been getting constant recognition for his on-field performance this season. Not only what we’ve listed above, but he’s also been given the Rotati Lombardi Award, Chuck Bednarik Award, Bronko Nagurski Award and Lott IMPACT Trophy.
