Dates for Billy Napier speaking tour announced
The dates and locations for the upcoming speaking tour of Florida Gators football coach Billy Napier — named the Gators Caravan — have been announced and will feature six stops, all in the Sunshine State.
Here’s a look at the schedule:
-April 15, Gainesville: Ben Hill Griffin Stadium Touchdown Terrace
-April 22, Orlando: Renaissance Orlando at Sea World
-April 29, For Lauderdale: Renaissance Fort Lauderdale Marina
-May 6, Lakeland: RP Funding Center
-May 13, Jacksonville, Sawgrass Marriott
-May 20, Tampa: Westshore Grand
Each of these events will begin at 5:45 p.m. and run until 8. Tickets are on sale now for $15 and can be purchased here. They will have heavy hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar.
Per a Florida Gators release, “The revamped spring tour will bring the Swamp to areas across Gator Nation. Fans will enjoy a new format that includes a live conversation with Napier and the Voice of the Gators Sean Kelley. Napier and Kelley will take questions from the audience. Cheerleaders, Dazzlers and Albert will join the festivities and fans in attendance will have the opportunity to win prizes that include signed footballs, Swamp Moments, and tickets to athletic events.”
Florida players report for spring ball during the first week of March and the first practice will be held on Thursday, March 7. Florida will practice on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays during spring camp, except for a Friday session on April 5. The team will be off for spring break, March 10-16.
After holding the spring game on Thursday night in 2022 and 2023, it will take place on Saturday this year. The 2024 Orange & Blue Game is scheduled for April 13 at 1 p.m.
That will be the third of three scrimmages for the Gators. They will hold their first scrimmage March 30 and the second scrimmage April 6, both on Saturdays.
Florida’s spring roster will feature a total of 29 new scholarship players, including 19 high school recruits and a total of 10 transfers.
