2026 New Orleans (La.) Holy Cross running back Ke’Rynn Smith made his debut in the On300 earlier this month. After notching 20 touchdowns while sharing the backfield, the 5-9, 182-pound back is working on getting better this offseason.

“I’m an explosive running back that always finds a way. I use my power to get to where I need to go on the football field,” Smith told On3. “I’m working on my vision and slowing down the game so when I play, I can see everything before it happens.”

Now an On300 prospect, he’s enjoying the early recruiting attention that he has garnered.

“The recruiting process is going good. I’m talking to many different schools,” he said. “A school I’m talking to a lot is Oklahoma State. I’m talking to Houston, Arkansas and TCU. I plan on taking some visits this summer. I just enjoy getting the attention early.”

Oklahoma State running backs coach John Wozniak is recruiting him early on.

“I like how special it is. I’m going out there this summer to get to know them more. They are very welcoming,” Smith said. “I like how he’s very straight forward. He’s a cool person to talk to.”

LSU has a close tie with Smith’s family. Running backs coach Frank Wilson played high school football with Smith’s father. An LSU offer would mean a lot for the in-state prospect.

“They have been asking for my transcripts,” Smith said. “It would mean a lot because my dad played with Frank Wilson. It’s a school my family all loves and it’s close to home. I’d love that offer from LSU. I see a place that I could really call that place home, but I’m waiting on them to reach out so I can get to know more about them. The offense was real good, the defense was just weighing them down. I think I’d fit great there.”

Houston, Arkansas, Florida State and LSU are programs that Smith wants to get to this summer. As he goes through the recruiting process, he’s got a couple things he’s watching.

“I want a winning team and (watching) how diverse the team is.”

Smith is the No. 281 overall prospect and No. 28 running back nationally in the On300. While LSU hasn’t offered, programs like Arkansas, Indiana, Missouri, Oklahoma State, TCU and others have.
