Anyone want BTN highlights from yesterday? Seems to me that IU won. 🙄
BTN blows! Last weeks promo for the wrestling championships showed Roman Bravo-Young for about 3 seconds. That was it! The promo did not feature any other PSU wrestler. Freaking joke…

Never understood the love some have for BTN. Network sucked out of the gate and continues to suck, across the board, not limited to it's coverage of things Penn State.

I think we’ll be either an #8 or #9; we’d play a #9 or #8. Second round we’d play #1 or #16.

Jerry Palm has us #9 playing Auburn in Des Moines, in the KU bracket.

It isn’t unheard of for a coach to shoot down job rumors during the season and leave after the season. This may not pertain to Shrewsberry, but it happens.
Which is opposite of Franklin leading everyone to believe he was leaving thus disrupting the season and destroying the recruiting class. If Shrew entertains leaving after the season so be it, no harm no foul. JF acted like a tool.

Bet you were a big fan of "Ted Mack's Original Amateur Hour."
Unfamiliar but it’s hard to argue when a network shows tons of wrestling. Who does that? And you know cbs isn’t televising blue hens at STATE. That’ll be on the big ten network. Haven’t missed a game since they came on the scene

Do a comparison to SECN, ACCN, or even LHN which carry the same sorts of programming.

Shrews says he’s happy to be here…that doesn’t mean he’s not talking to other schools and in no way is a commitment to stay. Franklin said he didn’t have time to deal with rumors, he had the next game to worry about….how is that any different? Different words, same message.

BTN at the very beginning was actually a decent channel. It wasn't just sports. They had non-sports programming (which if memory serves Penn State provided quite a bit). Once Fox got majority control of the channel, the non-sports programming went away. For me, BTN is only available on the Comcast Sports Tier and I am already paying enough.

Indeed, and even if he knows in his heart he is not leaving, his answer gives him the leverage he needs to upgrade assistant coaches pay, facilities, etc.

Fox has always run BTN operations. Its objective simply is to make money. That coupled with the realization that its viewership is affinity-driven translates into third-tier production values.

Kraft isn't Ms. Excellence and Coach Shrewsberry knows that he doesn't have to make his case to the public. I think he means what he says, subject, of course, to change.

I agree. I'm sure he meant what he said. He's happy here. What's left unsaid is it's possible he could be even happier somewhere else. I also think he does have to make his case to the public. If he has strong public support, getting the AD, and those he answers to on board (Bendapudi and BOT) is that much easier.

This program can be an asset to this Athletic Department with a little investment. It would be nice if the football program didn't have to do it alone. I think O$U is the perfect model for this.

One way closes the door, and yes I know for now but that's the important distinction. The other way fosters more and more speculation, especially when he continued with the obfuscation for months.

One thing that has not really been discussed. If true that GTown and ND are interested, are either program a step- up in terms of programs? IMO, PSU is just as good or better than those 2 programs.

Have it on good authority that Ms. Excellence was a PITA to deal with. Get the impression that Kraft is WYSIWYG. He has a good understanding of what a program needs to compete and has demonstrated a willingness to provide it if he can (Ms. Excellence simply didn't give a ****). I think he'd be a strong advocate before the powers that be.

As for public support, if I'm comparing apples to apples, attendance was down this season compared to 2022. Not encouraging.

Better than Georgetown, yes. Better than ND, no. Add in the fact that Coach is from Indiana and it makes them even more attractive. Having said that, I think given our location and proximity to very fertile recruiting grounds, we have the potential to be better than ND.

To a large extent, maybe entirely, PSU being better that Georgetown or Notre Dame is premised on Coach Shrewsberry being the coach of PSU. Remove him and slot him into either of the other schools and it's a different picture.

You do realize that SECN, ACCN and LHN don't carry any PSU sports. They may be great at what they do and BTN may suck at it, but, what choice do we have?

Of course, but that doesn't mean that the BTN doesn't suck when it comes to production quality, which is my point. I'd hazard a guess that Big Ten fans would watch the BTN if the telecasts were in black-and-white and grainy.

Since we were last invited to the Dance in 2011, Notre Dame has been there 6 times and Georgetown 4. If you go further back our record is even more stark. Notre Dame is 7th in all time victories. Both were rated by CBS among the top 25 programs of all time. I doubt we would make the top 100. We have the potential but both programs are better historically.

But then I’d have to watch sec. Money begets quality, that’s why I way prefer hanging out with my rich friends more than my poor ones.

Ever stop to think that maybe your "poor" friends hang out with you for the same reason that you hang out with your "rich" friends? Nah, doubt that you capable of that degree of introspection.

I’ll give you an example:
big Pete! Let’s go to Vegas tomorrow and watch the Bo fight! “no, can’t go, gotta work night shift this weekend”
same question to harry: “I’ll find us some flights, okay with dulles?’
