Penn State has the type of team who can beat anyone and lose to anyon on any given night. Comes down to shooting 3's, they have 5-6 legit 3 point shooters who can go on a heater an change any game, plus with Picketts ability to get what he wants seemingly against anyone they can be tought, but in the 2nd half last night NO ONE could hit anything and Purdue pulled away. Winter, Dread, Lundy all had good looks early in the 2nd half and all missed, PSU needs those shots to fall to have a shot since they have no Bigs to compelte inside.
Pickett and Lundy are the only two PSU players who can create their own shot. Pickett is the only one who can create shots for others. Purdue did a great job stopping Pickett from backing his defender down in the paint which limited his ability to create good looks for Funk & Dread.

I also think Dread's offense has been impacted by having to lean on Edey and Dickenson on defense. That has to take a lot out of him.

Would have liked to seen Lilley for a 2 minute stretch each half just to bang on Edey. Couple of hard fouls or at least work harder to get deep position. I realized offense would be tough with Lilley but even so, a big body to made Edey work.

With 15 games left in the regular season, PSU is in the "Next 4 Out" in ESPN's Bracketology.

Watching game vs IU. PSU really struggles to make passes inside. Really don't see many sets that send cutters thru the lane. Live by the 3, die by the 3 to me is not a good offensive philosophy. IU is doubling Pickett and forcing him out of his comfort zone. I think Micah will adjust.

Have to play to your strengths…we don’t have a good inside game so we shoot from the perimeter.

Evan Mahaffey quickly becoming one of my favorite players for PSU bball. Strong defensively, good hands, moves well without the ball, aggressive on defense and improving as a rebounder. Very strong upside.
Agreed. First time I saw him in very limited action early this year, you could tell he brought instant energy and athleticism to the court. Only question was whether he could harness it. For the most part, he has. Fun to watch, and a definite asset on the court.

He seems to be improving every time out. He has the wingspan of a 7 footer and is quick and springy. He handles the ball well and can even run the point. You can just tell that he is feeling more confident with each game. I have high hopes for him. We have a lot to replace next year.

Josh Reaves with more offensive game. Lets hope he progresses as JR did.

Pencil him in with Njie as starters for the next 2-3 years.

I miss Harrar's inside presence but... damn this team is tough when we're hitting 3's. So good to beat the Hosers.

One big win against Indiana later, and PSU jumped from 1st in the "Next 4 Out" to 1st in the "First 4 Out" in ESPN's bracketology with 14 regular season games left to go. Dreaded Pitt is currently the last team in, 1 spot ahead of us. Could end up being a fun season but I'm not at all comfortable having to rely on getting hot from 3 point land to consistently put Big 10 teams away.

So we’re 12-5 overall and 3-3 in conference and we’re out, but WVU is 10-7 overall and 0-5 in conference and they’re a 9 seed…yeah, that makes sense.

Lundy has been in foul trouble most of the game. And PSU is having trouble sinking 3s, which is their core offense.

61-60, Wisky, with 1:25 left to play
