I have a busy Friday and Saturday, so I'm setting this up in advance.

Please use this thread for all pre-Session 2, in-Session 2, and post-Session 2 discussions.

When: March 5, 6:30 pm EST. I believe Consolations start at 6:30 pm, and the Championship part of the bracket is at 8:30 pm EST.

Where: Pinnacle Bank Arena; Lincoln, NE

TV: BTN will start at 8:30 pm EST. (if you are a subscriber, you can watch on a SmartPhone or a computer via the FoxSports app (https://www.foxsports.com/live/btn). Note, you don't get to control which mat/match is being broadcast.

Streaming: for subscribers, BTN+. It will start at 6:30 pm EST. Note: you can control the mat/match you watch with this (I believe)

Radio: The radio PBP with Jeff Byers will be streamed for free via LionVision. The pre-Session will start at 6:10 pm EST, with the competition at 6:30 pm EST. You can access the radio PBP at:

Live Brackets: You can follow the brackets on TrackWrestling at:

Note: The Penn State Wrestling Club also has live brackets at: https://www.pennstatewrestlingclub.org

Team Scoring: The Penn State Wrestling Club is usually the fastest with that info. Their team scoring information can be found at: https://www.pennstatewrestlingclub.org/content/tournament_team_score.php?id=26&type=team

PBP: I expect to be available for PBP for a lot of this session. I may miss the early part, but will jump in when I can. @GregPickel will be providing scores and information. I hope many of you will also jump in and provide updates on mat assignments for upcoming PSU bouts (usually available from the TrackWrestling link listed above, or the Penn State Wrestling twitter account), scores, and PBP. Collectively, we've made this work for everyone in the past, and I'm sure we'll do the same this year.

CREATING YOUR OWN MORE VALUABLE QUAD VIEW

For those who like quad view, here is my suggestion for a better option. You can open 4 windows in your browser. Size each window to be one-quarter of your computer screen. Then access each of the four mats, one in each window. I start with accessing mat 1 in the upper left window, then mat 2 in the upper right window, mat 3 in the lower left window, and mat 4 in the lower right window.

Each of these 4 windows will be larger than the view of each mat in the quad view. Also, if you double click on one of these 4 windows, when a Penn State wrestler is shown in that window, the window will become a full screen view. Then after the Penn State wrestler's match is over, you can double click on the full screen view, and it becomes the smaller size window again, and returns to its original location.

By the way you can open a 5th window to listen to Ironhead's broadcast, and a 6th window for the Penn State Wrestling club site, which does the best job for both brackets and for team scores.

I use my desktop with a 27-inch screen for the 4 mat windows, and I use my portable for the 5th window (Ironhead's radio) and the 6th window for the Penn State Wrestlin club website (here is the link to that website: https://www.pennstatewrestlingclub.org/
It's very worthwhile to join the Penn State Wrestling Club

Big10+ had previously provided a way to open 4 screens or windows, and let you access each mat in one of these screens. When Big10+ discontinued that option, I found that I could open 4 windows in my browser, and create my own quad view.

By the way, ESPN+ does not allow you to open 4 windows, so I open 2 windows on my desktop computer, and two windows on my portable. Unfortunately the NCAAs use 8 mats.

That is an awesome setup! Nice work. I just have three TVs (setup for football but it works great for this too) and Byers on my laptop. I’m a mat short but it works out.

With 7 AQs at 149, Beau needs to win this first match. If he loses the one after that, he’ll go to the 7th place match where he’ll need to win to get the automatic bid.

If not, I still think he’ll make it as an at-large, but that’s certainly no guarantee.

ession 2 matchups:

125:
Consolation R2, #2 Drew Hildebrandt vs. #8 Patrick McKee (Minny) McKee didn't look good this morning but this could be a wild match

133:
Semifinal: #1 RBY vs. #5 Dylan Ragusin (Mich) - RBY does RBY things.

141:
Semifinal: #1 Nick Lee vs. #5 Jakob Bergeland (Minny) Nick will do the trick

149:
Consolation R2: #7 Beau Bartlett vs. #8 Christian Kanzler (Illini) who freaking knows.

157:
Semifinal: #10 Brady Berge vs. #3 Will Lewan (Mich) Bearclaw was tough against Lewan, BB will get it done

165:
Consolation R2: #10 Creighton Edsell vs. #9 Cael Carlson (Minny) Who knows but CE has a nice path to nationals. Who knew we were wrestling Minny tonight

174:
Semifinal: #1 CStar vs. #4 Michael Kemerer (Iowa) will be a war. I am recovering from left rotator cuff and I thought Kem was done. I don't know how he does it. Probably my favorite non-PSU Big Ten Wrestler.

184:
Semifinal: #1 AB vs. #4 Taylor Venz (Nebraska) ABChamp

197:
Semifinal: #2 Max Dean vs. #3 Cameron Caffey (MSU) This should be a great match. Caffey is like McKee, some times a head scratcher, sometimes excellent.

285:
Semifinal: #3 Kerk vs. #2 Tony Cassioppi (Iowa) hope we wrestle smarter

Two matches against Michigan, two against Iowa, you want to win the damn thing, tonight will tell.

I should be home just in time for Hildebrandt. Was not expecting to need to be computer side right at 6:30 Saturday night, but here we are!

No mat assignments for Bartlett or Edsell yet, of course.

I, unfortunately, have been asked by my wife to join her for dinner with friends. Why can these two days and the three in two weeks be national holidays?

I’ll be at dinner expecting great things from you, Greg!!!

Looks like BTN+ isn't making this available to subscribers with a team pass. Showing the consolations as locked for me.

That must be why I had to get another subscription earlier. Pretty annoying.

125 pounds: Drew Hildebrandt vs. Patrick McKee

First period
McKee gets the first takedown on the edge great double and it's 2-0 with about a minute to wrestle in the period. He's racked up nearly a minute of riding time so far. Hildebrandt is out late in the first. It's 2-1 after one.

Second period
Neutral to start. Hildebrandt deferred, and McKee picked neutral. Takedown, McKee. Another double and another takedown. They then go off the edge of the mat. End of two, it's 4-1.

Third period
Hildebrandt up to start third. His choice. McKee pretty quickly out to 5-1. Takedown for Hildebrandt with 23 seconds left, but McKee has the riding time point locked up. Without that, it's 5-3. He's going to need a turn. He won't get it.

Patrick McKee wins, 6-3.

125: Hildebrandt vs. Patrick McKee (Minny)
Consolation R2

Per 1
Not a lot thru 1 min. McKee in on a double and gets the TD, 0-2. Hildebrandt works up but they go OOB with 53 sec left. Caution on McKee - his 1st. Hildebrandt to his feet, and they are again OOB. Hildebrandt to his feet, returned, and OOB with 27 sec. Hildebrandt working up, and he's out, 1-2, and they go OOB with 11 sec left. End.

Per 2
Hildebrandt defers, and McKee takes neutral. McKee works in, nothing. Hildebrandt tries a high crotch, nothing. McKee in on another double and gets the TD, 1-4. Damn. They go OOB with 29 sec left. McKee working under the arm, Hildebrandt with a shoulder roll, and they go OOB with 15 sec left. 2nd caution on McKee. Hildebrandt to his feet and they go OOB with 10 sec left. Hildebrandt tries a sit-out but they go OOB with 2 sec left. End. RT @ 1:43 for McKee

Per 3
Hildebrandt takes top. McKee tries to hit a reversal but gets the esc as they go OOB, 1-5. Hildebrandt shoots and McKee sprawls, nothing. Hildebrandt shoots, McKee tries to counter and they go OOB with 1:06 left. McKee shoots a double, Hildebrandt ties up the elbows, and a stalemate with 36 sec. RT is locked for McKee. Hildebrandt in on the legs and gets a TD, 3-5. Needs a tilt or he'll lose. He tries the double grapevine, gets McKee extended, but he runs out of time. End

With RT, it's a 3-6 DEC, McKee over Drew Hildebrandt.

Not going the way Drew or CS imagined.

WTF was that?

I was also locked out of mat 1, but the 4 mat feed worked. Drew did not look good

Have to wonder if something is up with Hildebandt. I don't think saying it's stunning is unfair. McKee was a brutal draw, no doubt, but wow.

I was watching Cael off to the left of the coaches most of the match. He’s just so calm and collected. I’m squirming over here, and the head coach is staying cool. He puts you out there and then it’s up to you.
