I'm going to take this opportunity to confess my sins...

I'm 51 years old and have only started watching wrestling regularly for the past few years. I am ashamed and disappointed that I haven't gotten into this sport much earlier. I wish I got my son into this sport. But he chose football and baseball. I don't know everything I'm watching - I still can't tell you how the hell Lee pinned his opponent earlier today - but I'm learning. The whole team and individual concept is pretty crazy. I forget who the wrestler was, but it was a HWT going against Snyder of OSU and I remember cheering that he didn't lose by bonus points, which preserved the team win. I've never cheered for a PSU athlete who was losing.

Wrestling is a great sport and I regret not paying attention to it decades ago. Better late than never, I guess..
It’s the most humbling and rewarding experience in any sport. Glad you are a fan. My boys got into it late as I didn’t push them into it. They chose it for themselves and are behind because they chose it late but they still enjoy it. There’s a brotherhood and closeness between wrestlers and within teams that is different than other sports also. It’s a mutual respect even between the fiercest of rivals.

The match you are referring to was Nevills. He fought off Snyder from a major to secure the team win. We all rejoiced that loss that night. Nevills knew what his role was and he executed it perfectly.

Have some nuts as in Have some ******* Balls.

Its About Balls. Balls I say. The Ivies refer to them as Nuts but us mere pedantic pedestrian mortals refer to them as balls.

I thought it was something like that -- just wanted to verify.

Yianni's a great wrestler, but he didn't leave a good impression in that interview (even before his last comment).
He’s no RBY (tonight’s interview) or Bo (national championship - ‘this is what Penn State does’)

So the 157 final will be Quincy Monday (Princeton) vs. Ryan Deakin (NW), as Deakin defeats Teemer, 10-2

nice TD by O'Toole as he sucked in the single leg even though Amine was sprawled

wow, Shane Griffith with a TD with 2 sec left to win, 7-6. Cal Poly throws a brick, but the TD looked good.

So, Levi Haines is going to start as a freshman? I know he did well wrestling independently, but is he going to make the finals next year?
No guarantee Monday makes the finals next year either. Remember last year there was a lot of chatter that PSU should try to get Carr. Carr didn’t have the tournament everyone thought he would this year. Monday probably benefitted from that also. Levi Haines was Cael’s big recruit in this cycle. Cael has a plan. I’ll trust him. Now, if Monday would end up in Blue and White next year, I certainly wouldn’t complain.

174 Semis: #1 seed Carter Starocci vs. #4 seed Hayden Hidlay (NC State) (I'll use HH)

Per 1
CStar sort of shoots, blocked. Nothing thru 1 min. CStar nearly had a leg, but nothing. CStar has a low single and gets behind for the TD, 2-0. HH to his base, and then sits out and gets his hips away, 2-1. HH hoots, CStar counters and gets a TD, 4-1. End.

Per 2
CStar takes bottom. He's to his feet, and he's out in 11 sec, 5-1. CStar shoots off the whistle and a stall warning on HH, and after a scramble CStar gets the TD, 7-1. HH working to his base, then sits out, ad they go OOB with 7 sec left. Esc was awarded on the edge, so it's 7-2. End. RT @ 53 sec for CStar

Per 3
HH takes bottom. RT goes over 1 min, and then HH to his feet and an esc, 7-3. RT is 1:08 for CStar. A little flurry, nothing. 1 min left. CStar reaches, nothing. CStar sort of shoots again, nothing. CStar gets a low single, but HH whizzer outs of it. CStar in on a shot just before the buzzer and gets the TD, 9-3. With RT, it's a 10-3 DEC, and CStar is going back to the final!!!!
