Morocco beats Spain and moves into Round of Eight. Cool story. No prima donnas on that team. I would expect them to beat Switzerland. They’d give Portugal a real challenge.
Spain can knock the ball around all day long, but they have issues in the final 3rd.
Spain were not especially creative until the final 20 minutes or so of regulation, plus the extra time. You could say the same of Morocco, I guess; they left a lot of chances on the field.
Portugal up 1-0. Ronaldo on the bench for acting like a little **tch after being subbed off the other day. Common theme for him this year.

I checked, and, yeah, that’s the story. You have to wonder, too, how effective he would be nowadays. Morocco would run him into the ground.
Geez, Pepe really got himself up for that header, tremendous. Wow.
Ronaldo still on the bench as the second half opens. A safe bet he’ll stay there if Portugal keeps their lead.

I had some errands to run, and elected to try to do them between the two games. Alas, I ended up missing most of the Portugal - Switzerland match. Seems that it worked out well, as it's not much of a contest.
Portugal scores in stoppage time (91st minute) to make it 6-1, Portugal.
Final: 6-1, Portugal over Switzerland

Croatia 0-0 Brazil at 21’. Croatia midfield is playing better than Brazil’s. I was just about to type that Brazil is having a hard time getting the ball into their final third and then they created two good chances, nice soccer. If Croatia isn’t leading at halftime, Brazil will win, I’m pretty sure.
I thought the same. I’ve seen plenty of straight reds less dangerous than that.
The Croatia keeper just had the best ten minutes of his life.
Brazil have been in control so far in extra time. Croatia may be trying to just survive until a shootout.
