Am I missing something? Who are Penn State's 15 portal losses? What should fans make of the number of players Ohio State has lost to the transfer portal? Hey, Stephen! (msn.com)

Article claims:
  • Georgia’s lost 15 players to the portal many of which were five-stars or top 200 recruits coming out of high school;
  • Florida has lost 16 players;
  • Oklahoma has lost 17 players to the portal including its starting quarterback Dylan Gabriel;
  • Penn State has lost 15 players;
  • Texas A&M has lost 21 players, many of whom were from its highly-touted 2021 recruiting class and;
  • USC has lost 13 players to the portal.

So he follows Fran Brown from Georgia to Syracuse

Yeah, the Fran Brown story is an unreported story lost in the chaos at O$U. I wasn't aware of his impact/influence at GA and his recognition in the coaching profession. Kirby will have to lean on NIL to limit portal damage, Brown was able to lure Elijah and we can't (?) and now McCord! The last thing we need is a renewed headache on the east coast.

Tom you do a good job with this board

Elijah Robinson wanted to be a DC. Mike Elko, who is thoroughly familiar with Robinson's abilities, didn't want him in that capacity at aTm, so he moved to Syracuse. Gonna guess that Franklin's thinking aligned with Elko's.

As for Hayne's, one catch for 20 yards against UT Martin.

Smart will miss the inroads that Brown provided him to recruit in the Northeast. He'll do just fine without him. Rutgers is the program that will feel the most impact from Brown's presence at Syracuse. Penn State? Not much. If otherwise, it will be because it has larger problems.

where is 15 coming from???? We have seen only a small number elect to transfer so far.
I'm thinking this Cleveland paper is making an excuse for the large portal exit from Ohio St and they simply fabricated PSU's number. Either that or they use all other teams and list their portal departures and for PSU they are counting portal, draft, and graduating (notice they omit the word portal when listing our departures).

So, Colorado’s strategy is to just hit the portal every year? Don’t put in any work to build the program, just get portal players and hope everybody gels?

Five-star USC freshman quarterback Malachi Nelson is expected to enter the transfer portal after limited playing time and dealing with injury issues in his first year, according to reports. USC coach Lincoln Riley expressed optimism for Nelson's potential but acknowledged the physical hurdles he faced. With USC evaluating potential transfer quarterback additions, Nelson's potential departure and the lack of committed quarterbacks in the 2024 recruiting class raises depth concerns at the position.

Why It Matters
The potential departure of five-star quarterback Malachi Nelson and the lack of committed quarterbacks in the 2024 recruiting class could significantly impact USC's quarterback depth and future competitiveness.

By the Numbers
  • Nelson was the No. 4-ranked pro-style quarterback and No. 14 overall national prospect in the 2023 recruiting class.
  • He played only four snaps in his freshman season, dealing with injury issues and receiving limited playing time.
----Seems like if he can get over what is an undisclosed injury, he should be the next man up. Obviously unhappy about something. Maybe fears he won't be able to fully return to a high level of play for some time in the future and dialing back the level of competition. Seems like the Washington State qb, Cam Ward, is a hot commodity. Lincoln needs to have him on speed dial.
