Didn't believe Franklin would bring in Barham unless he wanted to play DE with all the talent and experience PSU has returning but hate to see him bail out UM.......

So, it looks like the PSU Portal OT commit, Alan Herron, flipped to Maryland. Nice knowing ya Alan. Thanks for stopping by for a cup of coffee.

he has. it's been brewing for some time. The short story is that this past weekend (after he had committed to PSU) Alan and his college high school coach took a trip to MD. Apparently, his college high school coach was a teammate in college of MD's OL coach. The trip was done on the hush-hush, and Alan's parents weren't even aware of it/told about it.

Herron would have been a nice addition, but more from a depth perspective. It was thought that if he worked on his strength, and his technique, he had the potential to compete for a starting spot the following year.

Edit: it was his high school coach, not his college coach.

So he'll graduate in 3 years while spending one semester at Alabama? And he was injured at ND and hasn't played lacrosse since high school? That's impressive, right?
Chris Hogan says hold my beer...
Christopher James Hogan (born October 24, 1987) is an American former professional football player who was a wide receiver for 10 seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Monmouth University following three years of college lacrosse at Pennsylvania State University.

My guess is he sees earlier playing time at MD than he would have at PSU. As you said, he was a project and playing time wasn’t a guarantee. It’s a big jump from where he is coming from to the B1G.

if he's starting next year for MD, that says a lot about their OL.

I wish Herron the best. He's going from DII to the big time. I think he had a better chance of improving at PSU than he has at UMD, but he may, as you speculated, have a better chance of playing sooner at UMB.

Did Chris Tyree from ND commit anywhere? He was a kid PSU was recruiting awhile back as a RB. Played WR at ND last year.
