Rough first half defensively, but really turned that around in the second half. Another rough performance offensively…need to do a lot better at that end if we’re going to make any noise this year.

As a basketball coach myself, 8+ years of CYO coaching, I have a unique insight into the game that the rest of you can't hope to have. ;)

Pardon me, but I can't help but post the following obscure lines from a hack poet _

This day is called the feast of Crispian:
He that outlives this day, and comes safe home,
Will stand a tip-toe when the day is named,
And rouse him at the name of Crispian.
He that shall live this day, and see old age,
Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours,
And say ‘To-morrow is Saint Crispian:’
Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars.
And say ‘These wounds I had on Crispin’s day.’
Old men forget: yet all shall be forgot,
But he’ll remember with advantages
What feats he did that day: then shall our names.
Familiar in his mouth as household words
Harry the king, Bedford and Exeter,
Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester,
Be in their flowing cups freshly remember’d.
This story shall the good man teach his son;
And Crispin Crispian shall ne’er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remember’d;
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day.

What’s the nature of Puff’s injury and when are we likely to see him in the lineup? Thanks

St Francis is just awful this season…too many bottom feeders on this year’s schedule.

This may be a tough year. Our coach had to put a team together in a short time, with questionable NIL support and defections from the players following the previous coach taking the job at Notre Dame. He stepped into a real mess. At least this season is getting off on the right foot. I like the coach and I am looking forward to see what he can put together, when given the time and program support.

PSU getting Morehead tonight on the ‘cock. PSU basketball is playing like PSU football, at least tonight. Tough on defense, struggling on offense.

PSU 24, Morehead 19, 5:33 left in the 1st half.

I was thinking the same thing. Really poor shooting, but a lot of pressure defensively. That’s leading to layup opportunities that we’ve been missing.

When you force the other team into 18 first half turnovers and you only score 37 points, you’re not shooting very well.

Disappointed in the defense today. But overall impressed by what is basically a brand new team. Clary has made a huge leap.

They will get better as season moves on…

Love how Rhoades coaches…intense!
Aggressive defense is great! However, when you give up a bunch of lay ups it makes you wonder if PSU would have been better packing the lane more and making TAM prove they can make shots from further out.

Just realized a crazy stat about tomorrow’s Butler game…these two teams met last season. Not a single player that saw the floor in that game will play in tomorrow’s game (for either team).

Welcome to college basketball in 2023.

It was two players on Texas AM that really hurt us. Overall was pretty pleased with how we hung with a ranked team till the end. Rhoades appears to have done a good job cobbling together a competitive team.
