I agee. We’re giving up a lot of uncontested 3 point shots and not taking many or making many ourselves. The team seems to lack leadership on offense. They play soft. There doesn’t seem to be an identity.

Maybe I was delusional, but expected much better play. Transfers had promise. No sense playing if you don’t expect to win. Seems like some of the fellas are just showing up and happy to be playing. I expected to win all 3 in the Disney tournament, though realized A & M would require everyone’s best effort. 0-3 is a major disappointment. Much work and adjusting in the few days ahead, Big 10 play starting….at least we can fall back on wrestling when we yearn for a win. The rest of the athletic teams could learn something if they took time to pay attention to the example being set for them.
Meh, I think it's still too early in the season to say. Obviously had they gotten a couple wins in Orlando, outlook would be brighter. Lets see what kinds of adjustments Rhoades can make moving forward.

did you see a difference in these 3 games? I thought the previous games we were more complete - maybe different competition level.
the word leaking out from summer workouts and preseason practice was that the team looked good on O, but that D was a work in progress and they'd likely struggle with it.
I don't think you can draw any conclusions on Rhoads, as he was putting together a team on the fly, and taking what he could land from the portal. Coaches usually take a few years to recruit the type of players they want, as well as training them to become the best versions of themselves within the program's goals.
I grew up in da Skook adjacent county of Northumberland where we have our fair share of da lingua skooka. My mom graduated from Mahanoy Joint High School (now part of Line Mountain) and we grew up fishing the Mahantango Creek. There’s also a second Mahantango Creek in Snyder & Juniata counties.

My parents are from Millersburg, and Dad always pronounced Mahanoy and Mahantango with pretty much a “k” for the h.
My aunt & uncle owned a flower shop in Millersburg for years. A lot of people in Northumberland county, my family included, pronounce the ‘maha-’ with a ’k’ sound. Mock-a-noy instead of Mah-ha-noy.

Unfortunately after that performance I might spend more time attending the women’s games. No excuse. I’ve never seen a performance like that before. Even in the ugly years, the players played hard. Somebody must have put something in their pre game meal because that was no PSU squad out there…
Two I believe, but it’s still pretty bad when you take a team’s coach and their two best players and still lose to that team.
I would hope, by now, that most here realize that Penn State will never have a quality men's basketball program. It is not in our DNA. No amount of money, no amount of effort, will change that. No coach on earth can win here. That said, I am going to call Diane Lane and offer her dress suggestions for the upcoming Golden Globe awards on January 7th. Will she take my call? Maybe not, but I have a far better chance than Penn State has of ever being good in basketball.
