I am just sitting here waiting around for the next PSU matches and watching what's going on elsewhere so if anyone has any matches they want to know about let me know and I'll try to pass along anything interesting.
If anyone else is watching, that Soldano/Dow match is fantastic. The Rutgers wrestler wins 12-9.
Do we know if the consolation runs at the same time or do they wait for the semis to be over?
It's what I thought too, but I'm seeing consolation up next on all mats on track
Good point. I'm expecting that to update. Unless they intend to rip through them all in 20 minutes, which is of course just about impossible.
I see what's up now. They are going to start consy quarters on all four and then at 7:30 shift to two SFs, two consys.
Per Byers: Waiting for each weight to finish up. So if a pin on one mat in semis, they'll hold the next weight until the other semi ends.
Interesting. I just noticed that on Track.
Speaking of Track, I saw something yesterday that I don't think I had ever seen before (or that I remember). The Michigan State Championships were held on Friday and Saturday. There are 3 divisions, and they also had a girl's championship (not sure if there were multiple divisions for the ladies -- I didn't check). On Friday when I was checking the Michigan results on Track, I realized that they were running 25 mats simultaneously. That's just wild.
Byers seemed to suggest that based on how it might go, you could get Facundo and RBY up at the same time, for instance.
Greg, I'll leave the PBP on SVN's match for you. I'm still trying to recover, and stuff some food in my body.

Now I don't think they'll finish before the semis. No Consolation matches are currently assigned on Mats 3 & 4 beyond the current matches.

First period
SVN tosses Lamar in the center of the mat for six. Wow. That was pretty. Lamer now tagged with stalling. SVN over 1:20 in RT. Lamer does escape late in the period. It's 6-1. SVN has 1:29 in RT.
Second period
Lamer is down and out to 6-2. But just as quickly SVN swipes in and secures a takedown. It's 8-2. SVN cuts to 8-3. SVN single leg equals another takedown for a 10-3 lead. SVN rides it out. He has 2:49 in RT.
Third period
SVN quickly out. It's 11-3. And then he gets another takedown. Now it's 13-3. Cut to 13-4. And it appears Lamaers has MDFs in the third period. That's as best as I (and Byers) can tell. But, he wins. There was 1:11 left.
