Alex Facundo vs. Bubba Wilson, Nebraska

First period
Facundo shoots but Wilson sprawls enough to get a stalemate. No score after one.

Second period
Facundo starts down and is out in a hurry for a 1-0 lead. Quite a scramble here as Wilson almost had Facundo in trouble but they rolled through and it ended with a stalemate. The period end 1-0.

Third period
Wilson out in a hurry to 1-1. Wilson shoots on a single and hammers through for a takedown. He now leads 3-1. Facundo is out to 3-2. Wilson gets a headlock and they continue to stay neutral with 30 seconds to wrestle. Facundo in on a single Wilson counters with a single they fight for positon and no score before it ends. Wilson wins, 3-2.

Wilson d. Facundo, 3-2.

Facundo had so many missed shot chances this weekend. Have to think he'll be better in two weeks.

just getting back from HS districts here in Ohiya.
Can I get a quick summary of how the first round went? Expected wins by PSU I see as he is in the finals.
Any unexpected losses by PSU?

TIA

133: RBY vs Dylan Ragusin, Michigan

First period
RBY drops in on Ragusin twice, cuts once, and leads 4-1. He starts a ride after that second takedown and rides out the period with a minute in riding time.

Second period
RBY down to start the second. He stands and is out to 5-1. RBY snaps and goes for a takedown on the edge. It's 7-1 as they go off the mat. They wave off the takedown. That is beyond baffling. Well, it's 5-1 now after all. Ragusin in on a single, RBY whizzers to fight it off, and they go off the mat with three seconds left, no scoring.

Third period
Ragusin is down. RBY hit with a stalling call. Ragusin is out off the restart but 1:05 in RT for RBY. RBY had a single attempt but Ragusin kicks away. Off a restart RBY shoots in and is working around but can't finish it. RBY throws Ragusin at the end of the period, two more, and he wins, 8-2.

RBY d. Ragusin, 8-2.

133 Semi: RBY vs. Dylan Ragusin (Michigan) (I'll use DR for him)

Per 1
RBY with a quick single and a trip, stays with DR on a roll and gets the TD, 2-0. OOB with 2:36 left. DR up and out, 2-1. RBY sort of reached for either a high crotch or a single, and nearly got in some trouble but nothing. 1 min left. RBY in on a single and spins behind for the TD, 4-1. HE tilts him bot only gets 1 swipe so no NF. They are on the edge. End. RT @ 1:00 for RBY

Per 2
RBY takes bottom. DR throws in a boot. Then RBY to a 3-point and then stands, and he's out, 5-1. RBY with a lighting quick shot and did he get the TD before they go OOB? The refs talk, and they are going to video review. It was close. RBY was so fast on that shot. The TD was waved off. RBY nearly with a throw, and then DR with his 1st shot and he has RBY's leg. RBY with a whizzer, they are on the edge, and then OOB with 3 sec left. End. RT @ 38 sec for RBY

Per 3
DR takes bottom. DR to his feet, RBY stays with him, then a stall call on RBY so they will restart (or they went OOB; not certain, but there was a stall call on RBY). RT goes over 1 min and DR is out (basically cut). 45 sec left. RBY in on a single but DR is able to kick out. OOB with 23 sec. DR sort of shoots, and RBY tries to counter. A body lock and RBY gets swipes near the end. It's only a TD. With 1:07 in RT, it's a 8-2 DEC for RBY

In the finals, Roman Bravo-Young will face No. 6 Aaron Nagao of Minnesota, who just beat No. 2 Jesse Mendez 6-4 in sudden victory at 133 pounds.

No, we don't. Stop saying this. Other years yes, but not this year.
Hope your right. Just my coaching over 30 years coming out. Lol. Want to blow away the field. We’ve had trouble winning big tens. Yes Nationals is #1 goal.

141 pounds: No. 2 Beau Bartlett vs. No. 3 Brock Hardy, Nebraska

First period
Bartlett shoots in and a scramble ensues. It ends with a potentially dangerous call. Hardy slips in and has every chance for a takedown but Bartlett rolls through for a takedown. Wow. What a scramble and move by the Penn State junior. Impressive. He leads 2-0. Hardy is out to 2-1. Period ends there.

Second period
Hardy down first. He gets out to 2-2. Riding time not currently a factor. Bartlett is in on a single leg, Hardy counters on a single of his own, they scramble and roll through here but Hardy is able to convert into a double and takedown. He leads 4-2. Bartlett almost has a reversal in hand but Hardy readjust and fends it off. It's 4-2 after two.

Third
Bartlett down. Hardy has legs in and bellies Bartlett out. But Bartlett stands again, Bartlett rolls through, but Hardy stays with and keeps rolling him over. Bartlett is out to 4-3. Bartlett shoots and Hardy counters and takes him down to 6-3 late in the third. With riding time, it's a 7-3 win for Hardy.

Hardy d. Bartlett, 7-3

141 Semi: Beau Bartlett vs. Brock Hardy (Nebraska) (I'll use BH)

(20-1) vs. (26-4)

Per 1
Beau in on a single, elevates the leg, has BH dancing, then they scramble, and stopped for PD. The refs are chatting, and elect to go to video review. It appeared that PSU was going to throw the brick but didn't need to as the refs reviewed. No points awarded after the review. 2:31 left to go in the period. BH gets behind Beau, and somehow Beau with a roll and gets behind for the TD, 2-0. Wow. BH to his feet, and eventually Beau cuts him, 2-1. 1 min left. End. RT @ 25 sec for Beau.

Per 2
BH takes bottom. He works up, and is out in 9 sec, 2-2. Beau shoots, stopped. Then BH in on a single reaches over and then gets the TD, 2-4. Beau works up but is returned. He has BH's ankle and now the entire leg, and is trying to step over BH, but it's not getting I'm anything. He gives it up, and BH flattens Beau. End. RT @ 31 sec for BH.

Per 3
Beau takes bottom. Beaut gets flattened, then to his feet and hits a roll but BH stays with him. RT goes over 1 min for BH. Beau to his feet and hits a roll, but BH stays with him. Beau works up again but they go OOB on a roll, with 59 sec left. Beaut works up and is out, 3-4. Beau shoots, BH counters, they scramble, and BH gets the TD, 3-6. OOB with 4 sec left. End. With 2:21 in RT, BH defeats Beau, 7-3

As our studs win, we'll get the advancement points and championship points that no one other than Lee and Woods can match. I still think 20-30 point win

Bartlett, svn, facundo need to watch some of our older wrestlers. They die when the going gets tough!
Yes. We definitely need those 3 to wrestle better at Nationals or we’re not winning !!!! Other guys are not a guarantee…..They gotta step up much better.

I agree. Bartlett has never impressed me to be honest. Svn and Facundo seem to not have that killer instinct. Just my thoughts
Only go by this year where he lost once before tonight. He wasn't long enough for 149. He gave Nick Lee all he could handle and we know how good Lee was
