The Bucs have a good D. This could be a tougher matchup than I had anticipated when I first looked at the schedule

I wouldn’t take this one for granted the way the offense has played. The good news is that Tampa’s D likely isn’t good enough to shut down both facets of the Eagles offense. Take care of the football and the Eagles should win.

The bucs and eagles D are really close in statistics.

Run D:
Eagles - opponent 3.4 YPC
Bucs - opponent 3.3 YPC

Pass:
Eagles - opponent completion %: 67.4
Bucs - opponent completion %: 67.1

****IMO this is heavily caveated since against the vikings we were missing a starting CB and S, and lost the starting nickle.

Offense is a bit different

Rushing:
Eagles - 356 rushing yards on 73 attempts for 4.9 yards per carry
Bucs - 193 rushing yards on 67 attempts for 2.9 per carry

advantage Eagles

Passing:
Eagles - 40 of 53 for 363 at 6.5 YPA and 71.4% completion
Bucs - 47 of 68 for 490 at 7.2 YPA and 69.1% completion

advantage Bucs

wha'ts interesting is if you look at opponents, each team played the Vikes, and Cousins had 344 against the bucs and 364 against the eagles, and Jefferson has 159 against the eagles and 150 against the bucs. outside of that, we played the giants and they played the bears.

BL: I think this one is gonna be close, as each team is really freaking similar in terms of production for and against so far. eerily similar. I thinkit comes down to eagles OL versus the Bucs front 7. unstoppable force vs immovable object kinda deal

Pretty good start for the Sirianni coaching tree. Indy is 2-1 with a win over Baltimore. Arizona only 1-2, but the win is vs Dallas and they very well could be 3-0. Keep in mind that it was widely believed that AZ would be tanking the season.

It may also explain the Eagles’ “slow” start in spots. It’s tough to lose both high performing coordinators and not have an adjustment period.

Yep. It's an angle I like to use in early season college football betting. I should probably apply it to pros too.

Has anyone commented on the mid-season schedule for the Eagles?
Miami>Wash>Dallas>(bye)>KC>Buffalo>SF>Dallas
Brutal. At least there is a 15 day break for the bye.

there was some talk about it when the schedules came out. I haven't seen much about it of late, other than statements about getting wins in the early games before they face that stretch.

The four games after the break are really tough. The Birds will be psyched for the KC game after last year's Super Bowl. Buffalo will be an interesting test between the Birds' DL getting to Allen, and Allen trying to victimize some of the Birds' DBs that weren't starters at the beginning of the season. And SF seems to have a lot of revenger on their mind after last year's NFC Championship game. After those 3 games, it may be difficult for the team to be as focused as they need to be for Dallas.

It will be interesting to see what the Birds' record is for those 7 games.

I'll take 4-3, especially if 2 wins are against the Cowboys.

I'll say this, there is only 1 team on the Eagles schedule that can defeat the Philadelphia Eagles. And that is the Philadelphia Eagles. If they bring their A game every week, baring injuries to Hurts, they should win every game.

interesting PFF ratings. The Eagles OL at #2 surprises me. That must be due to pass blocking in week one?

Eagles fans: Is Jalen Carter gonna be able to play at the same level as Javon Hargrave did for the Eagles last year? I'm wondering what the scuttlebut is on that so far this season.

So far, Carter is the top rated DT in the NFL. That’s after three career games, so I’d say he’s capable of being quite a bit better than Hargrave and on a rookie deal.

Jordan Davis is also ranked in the top 10 and has been unbelievable in year 2.
