People forget what a young coach Nick is. And his staff is young as well - save for maybe Stoutland. They may be in some shock right now. If you look at the play designs on offense, it's not great. Lots of slow developing routes where Hurts has to hang onto the ball for too long. That either causes him to panic and force throws or stresses the OL on protections.Just watched todays conference call with Nick. He was using lots of Coach speak and defended his assistants by backing them 100% etc. I hope I am wrong….but in my opinion he seems a bit lost with no clear answers about what went wrong the past several weeks. For me it is either of two things 1) there is so much wrong that he has to pick his poison with a fix on a few things while leaving other glaring issues masked. 2) He would never admit it…..but the team has flaws in personnel that he can’t properly fix till the off season. Netting it out….IMO….The birds will make the playoffs….but….will not make it past the 2nd game. Howie will need( post season) to fix the issue at Linebacker and multiple changes in the secondary. I am not sold with either offensive or defensive coaches …..but my SWAG….is that Nick retains both next season. As I mentioned in an earlier post I live in DFW and was at this game….I was amazed with how much better / faster the Cowboys played which I hate to admit.
Agree on the youth aspect. Would love to bring in Frank Reich as a consultant assisting on game plan with Brian Johnson. Reich did not work out as a head coach…but….most respect his ability to work with QB’s and offensive schemes etc. he and Nick are very close…..I would not be surprised if a few calls have been made.People forget what a young coach Nick is. It seems to me that opposing coaches have figured how to scheme AJB into a relative lack of productivity, relative to his productivity earlier in the season. Am I wrong? Is this a factor in Philadelphia calling “lots of slow developing routes where Hurts has to hang onto the ball for too long?”People forget what a young coach Nick is. Having our TE back should certainly help. I also agree on the current plethora of slow developing plays. Would love to see quick pass short distance game if brown or smith get a clean slant pattern…..they could house it at any time. Get the ball out of Hurts hands quicker . Blend that in with a bit of RPO and you just might see Hurts regain the potential MVP status that he lost the past 3 weeks. On defense…. learn to ( with intent) tackle again. Having several consecutive games against quality NFC teams with 3 days more rest than they had equals tired legs. If we hold onto the ball and play offense with tempo….we have a good shot in Seattle . Continue our current pattern of slow starts and Seattle will truck us. PS: Telling stat ….at this point last season we were a plus 14…..as of now we are a negative 4 !It seems to me that opposing coaches have figured how to scheme AJB into a relative lack of productivity, relative to his productivity earlier in the season. I just remembered that Goedert has returned.
I hope Jurgens isn’t another super talent who can’t stay healthy.Eagles injury report not good Zack cunning out as well as Cam Jurgens. I think a boy named Sue to start at RG.
I can’t tell if this is good or bad news
If this were last year - definately bad news. This year? Not so much.I can’t tell if this is good or bad news
How about some legit bad news
Good. Something had to be done. There’s no excuse for this D not being at least decent.Holy $h!t, there’s more to this. Desai has officially been replaced apparently.

Report: Eagles replace Sean Desai with Matt Patricia amid defensive struggles
The Eagles reportedly are turning over defensive play-calling duties to Matt Patricia after several down weeks for Sean Desai’s operation.www.nbcsportsphiladelphia.com

Desai is obviously gone after this season. The tweet you posted tells the tale. His defense has been the worst in the league for several weeks. There is no excuse for that with the Eagles personnel. There’s a trail here for sure. D started going down hill a month or 2 ago, then got smoked the last 2 weeks. Granted the last 2 weeks were against high level offenses. But the players started to talk. And Byard seemingly forced Desai to hand gameplanning to the players.
If it was just the last 2 weeks I’d feel like this was a knee jerk. but take the last 2 months into account and it Sounds like a complete lack of confidence to me.
My concern is how does Desai take this being replaced by not another position coach or the head coach, but an analyst? This smells like a girl breaking up with you but telling you that you can keep living with her while her new boyfriend moves in. Weird and wide open for a ton of drama.
I suspect a player mutiny. Nick had to make this change or he’d be at greater risk.
Byard. I don’t trust. He hasn’t been here long enough to start dictating things. IMHO he is part of the problemThere’s a trail here for sure. I don’t think he’s preformed anywhere close to the credentials you sight. In fact I think he s been a weak spotI could care less how long he’s been there. He’s a three time all pro, veteran player. If he walks through the door and sees something is wrong, I would hope he would do anything possible to try and fix it.

Isn’t that about the time he showed up??Agree. He hasn’t played well at all. However without being in the building I have no idea if that’s him or the scheme that has been bottom of the league since week 8. And with his credentials, he’s earned some benefit over his first time former DC
