I just can 't believe how badly the Eagles have fallen apart in the last six games. At this point, it wouldn't surprise me if they made a quick exit from the playoffs. But it also wouldn't surprise me if they turned it around and made it to the NFC Championship Game.

Assuming the Cowboys beat the Packers, Philadelphia would play in either SF or Dallas in the Conferemce Semifinals. I don’t see them surviving that trip.

I was starting to get covetous of the Eagles for awhile there about two months ago, but we ended up in about the same spot. Although you're all very lucky you get to play playoff games in Tampa while the Steelers have to win the AFC to draw that.

Sorry if this has already been discussed here and I just missed it, but a columnist out here in the Bay Area is speculating that Hoodie will sign on as Eagles head coach in the very near future. Not at all sure that happens but, then again, I certainly didn't think the Birds would drop 5 of their last 6 regular season games. Siriani has got to be on the hot seat at this point. In any event, I'm wondering if Birds fans would be in favor of Hoodie as their new coach. Does he have enough left in the tank?

Why would Siriani be on a hot seat?

I’m split on the idea. On one hand, Siriani took over a 4-11-1 team in 2020 and took them to the playoffs in year one and the Super Bowl in year two. They were 10-1 this year before falling off, but are still in the playoffs. The 1-5 stretch reflects poorly on the head coach, but there were other issues at play too. Is that a 3-year track record that warrants firing a young coach? What if SF had fired Shanahan after the disaster 2020 season?

On the other hand, this Eagles roster is very talented. Nick’s coordinator decisions and slowness to adapt helped squander a golden opportunity this year. A coach like Hoodie could come in, fine tune a loaded roster and significantly uplevel the schemes and game day coaching. He could elevate the next 1-2 seasons beyond what Nick can do while having to roll the coordinator hire dice again this offseason.

I do skew toward point one. It’s just not rational for Lurie to fire a young coach with Nick’s track record. I think he gets at least another year to right this.

Like who?! Hurts is nowhere near retiring. Jason Kelce still has plenty in the tank, no? Lane Johnson is at the top of his game. Don't know who the other two pictured players are, but I'm wondering about that retirement comment.
Brandon Graham and Fletcher Cox.

Kelce seems 50-50 at best to play next year. If he goes All Pro this year, then his Hall of Fame case is a lock.

Nice call. I missed that it was released yesterday. Amon-Ra St. Brown over AJ Brown on the first team is a joke.
I thought the same
Relative to Jason I know someone who is a childhood friend, I think he better friends w Donna, and I think he’s fos but he says this is his last yr I just don’t see it, I understand why at this point to retire but it’s hard to turn down $10-15 mil per yr and you are at the top of your game and have 3 young kids

He’s been pondering retirement for a few years now and the Kelce’s don’t strike me as opulent lifestyle people. Money isn’t the issue.

I don’t disagree but it’s hard to turn down $10-15mil doing something you are very good at

Dunno but it’s not a good look the day before the playoff game. It can’t do anything positive for the Eagles players’ states of mind.

Yeah agree here. He doesn’t need the money, and isn’t the type to WANT the money. If you watch the documentary he looks like someone who has been missing the time with his daughters as he’s gotten older. Plus he’s got plenty of money coming in from the podcast and endorsements. Not to mention smart financial decisions he’s likely made along the way. He’s gonna be one that goes out on top of his game instead of trying to milk every snap out of it a la Jason Peters

All because of (IMO) the power of a good woman.
