No takedown. Woods hangs on to beat D'Emillo after a LONG review, 7-5

Am I the only one that dislikes Woods? If you would have told me he was at Stanford without me already knowing it, I would say you’re crazy.

Seed upset: Phillus (Purdue, No. 12) over Jack (NC State, No. 5) 7-6. Opposite side of Bartlett.

141 R2: #6 seed Beau Bartlett vs. #11 seed Clay Carlson (S. Dakota St.) (I'll use CC for him)

Per 1
Beau sort of shoots, then gets a leg and has CC bouncing, but CC gets out of it. Good D by CC. Stalemate with 1:17 left. End

Per 2
Beau takes bottom. Beau works up, and he's out in 20 sec, 1-0. CC in on a head outside single, Beau hits a throw, CC rolls with him, they scramble, and a stalemate with 1:04 left. Beau in on a low single, and barrels in for the TD, 3-0. They are on the edge, and OOB with 37 sec. CC to his feet, lifted and returned, and then flattened. End. RT @ 31 sec for Beau

Per 3
CC takes bottom. CC to his feet quickly, and Beau cuts him after 5 sec, 3-1. CC with a sloppy shot, but Beau can't get a counter. Stall warning on Beau (he kept retreating). Stall gallon Beau as he backs off the edge, 3-2. CC shoots, Beau with a counter, but the buzzer sounds. A 3-2 DEC for Beau Bartlett

good match for Beau.

Carlson had one good shot and Beau almost turned it on him. Rest was all Beau. Great ankle pick TD in the 2nd. Solid defense but just stalled at the end.

Tom, Is that 2?

It was close, but I didn't think it was a TD. If D'Emilio had gotten the far ankle initially, it would have been. He reached for it after Woods had turned in and grabbed a leg (I think).

Thanks. I think had he limped the other arm out quicker, it was 2. Interestingly, many of the knuckledraggers on HR think it was two and one guy even said Real stalled the whole 3rd period and was lucky not to get called. A moment of sanity over there.

The Paniro Johnson - Shayne Van Ness match should be a good one. I'm curious to see how it plays out.

looked like Johnson wanted nothing to do with offense so important not to fall behind and play into his game.

he definitely stalled. Be he was subtle about it, and stayed engaged
