It not that hard to imagine the likelihood of Lee winning that match if they hadn’t thrown the brick. I know Lee asked for it, but that game Ramos to catch some wind.

Very well ... thanks for asking.

I generally keep details about my family (immediate or extended) off the boards. However, I'm going to make a bit of an exception today. My younger brother, at a routine annual exam this year, his doctor thought he heard a bit of a murmur, so he sent him to a cardiologist to get a test so that they'd have a baseline to compare it against over the years. Well, after the cardiologist tests, he found that he had a valve that was leaking, and also one blockage, so he'd need cardiac surgery.

The cardiac surgeon thought that he'd be able to repair the valve, but just in case he had to decide between a titanium replacement or a cow valve replacement. The surgeon also indicated that it was likely to be two bypasses to address blockages.

The surgery was today. My brother thought it was a good omen to have it performed on St. Patrick's Day. I got the report just as I was leaving near the end of Session III. The surgeon was able to repair the existing valve. During the surgery they determined that there were was a third blockage, so he ended up with a triple bypass surgery as well as a valve repair.

It was somewhat unsettling, as my brother ran track and cross country all during high school, and has been pretty active, athletically, most of his adult life. Plus, he probably weighs no more than 5-8 pounds above what he weighed when he graduated from college -- he's always been lean, and in good shape.

It appears that after a couple of months of rehab, he'll be in very good shape for the future.

I've known of many friends that underwent such surgery, but this was new to my immediate family. It's a lot easier to rationalize, and be confident about, when it's a friend than when it's your immediate family.

Anyway, in a great day of Penn State wrestling, I get the added bonus that my brother's cardiac surgery went very well.

Again, thanks for the kind thoughts.
Best of luck to you, your brother and his family.

I am sure I've seen a challenged locked hands call before, but I can't remember when.

let’s hope that RBY doesn’t continue the trend of number 1 seeds losing…

RBY should have taken neutral to start third. Would have given him more time to work on a take down, and reduced the riding time

133 Semi: #1 seed Roman Bravo-Young vs. #4 seed Michael McGee, (ASU) (I'll use MM)

Per 1
RBY shoots but MM kicks his right foot free. MM in on a low single, they scramble, RBY has an ankle, this is wild, and a stalemate with 1:30. How RBY avoided that is beyond me. He is special. McGee is fast on his feet. 1 min left. PD stoppage with 56 sec left. RBY shoots but MM spins away. End

Per 2
MM takes bottom. MM to his feet, returned. OOB with 1:52 left. McGee with a sit-out and gets behind for the REV, 0-2. MM with a good ride. RBY to his feet, lifted and returned. Locked hands against MM, so it's 1-1. ASU throws the brick. I didn't have a view of it, so I can't offer an opinion. 55 sec left in the period at the time of the call. On replay, that was locked hands, IMHO. Call is waved off, 0-2. RBY working up, lifted and returned. RBY having trouble getting away, but he does with RT @ 52 sec for MM. 1-2. MM tries a throw-by, nothing. End. RT @ 52 sec for MM

Per 3
RBY takes bottom. He's to his feet, but returned. He's to his feet, and nearly gets a reversal, but control still to MM, then an esc and OOB with 1:07 left, 2-2. MM has 1:43 in RT, so RBY needs a TD. RBY shoots, MM counters, they scramble, and RBY with the TD. Wow. 4-2. OOB with 36 sec left. RT is locked for MM. MM is out, and in on a low single, they scramble, and RBY nearly with a TD but MM is off the mat. 13 sec left. End. With RT for MM, it's a 4-4 tie, so we go SV

SV
RBY shoots, nothing. MM shoots, and RBY counters and he gets the TD!!!!!!!!

Wow, that was a hell of a match.

Byers is going insane

6-4 DEC for RBY
