He is a real tough player and hope we dont regret losing him. BTW Semaj Bridgeman, another player we originally offered commited to Michigan.

There sure are a good many LB's in the composite 247 PA top 25, but they all seem to be borderline OLB types, possibly more suited for Mike/MLB, and when Diaz came on board he seems to want faster sideline to sideline LB's that can cover as well so it seemed that he dropped the PA kids down the board and focused on the top athletic LB's as well as some hybrid types that possibly include the big safety Nelson from down south who Diaz likely was hot after for Miami before he came to PSU.....

After a good first day, Stokes basically disappeared at the E11. Considerably less accurate than the others, the running compliment seemed to be "off platform throws". One has to wonder if Florida put in the big bid after losing out on the QB who picked Miami.

Do we get back in the mix for Kohl?

Hasn’t wowed anyone at the Elite 11. This is what you get with Florida though.

The $EC is up to their old tricks... How do you compete against this nonsense?
Does it matter? I wasn't thrilled when we got stokes (really have zero interest in 3 star QBs... i know, they bequeathed him 4 but that's a marvelous stretch) and i'm not exactly losing sleep over "losing" the joker (love seeing these guys are HARD commits on 247... was that last time, this time, or next time? lmao). Webb is by far the bigger loss.. then again, I doubt he has much chance against the guys we have right now (and ummm maybe he knows it). Wouldn't mind having him cuz ya never know.. but I feel pretty damned good about our RB situation.

From a PR pov it sucked cuz our coaches seemed totally blindsided, and that should not happen... but I'll make the trade of picking up 2 spots on the recruiting list... we've got plenty of florida players already.. let's move on and get kids who WANT to be here.

Stokes reinforces why I need to stop caring about flash commitments. I’m much more confident about kids staying that take their time, make their visits and schedule commitments. These kids who get a stiffie when the wind blows are bound to de-commit.

at the moment we have a pretty good looking QB room (maybe changes after the season) so not sure how bid a deal this is other than the news/twitter verse. We did pull of recruiting some other QBs, so he did cost us some time. If we keep the current 3 QBs on the roster for at least a couple years, this is less of a factor. Having no QB in 2023 class may mean looking at the portal next spring, especially if we lose one of them to transfer.

Oh totally agree. I’m not upset he flipped. I’m upset because the writing is on the wall with these flips. Kid commits early when a school finds him early, then does the camp circuit and blows up and NIL $ gets thrown around, and he flips. I get that this already happened (fields) but I think it’s gonna get A LOT worse. And my personal opinion is that I already hate flips, and NIL makes it so much worse and makes me hate it so much more. At least it seems like the kids who take their time, play the process and commit after deliberation are the ones who stick more.

Who else is committing this week besides Montgomery that we are in on? Good week sounds like multiple...no?

I'd rephrase things a bit. Below, I've listed the prospects that PSU is actively recruiting that have publicly announced their intentions to announce their decisions this week, and the day they've said they'll be doing so. In addition, there are some rumblings (nothing publicly confirmed) that others will announce this week. Only time will tell.

RB London Montgomery - July 11

LB Tony Rojas - July 14

LB TaMere Robinson - July 15

With Montgomery's commitment today and Robinson's scheduled announcement later this weeks, in combination with all the commitments recently of the PA top players, the only top player not potentially close to a decision seems to be Rahmir Stewart, the Safety from Philly. With PSU long on Safety's in this class it would seem that PSU now has it's fill of Safety's and likely DB's overall.

Stewart's 247 profile lists a good many offers from top programs. Can anyone shed some light on what's going on with Stewart? Grades?

I posted this in the July Articles ... thread, but thought it might be good to post it in this thread
