Tom McAndrew: in your opinion, is/will the staff continue recruiting Rodney Gallagher? I hated losing him when it seemed so much like he was going to commit to PSU. He is a star WR waiting to happen, IMO.

There are some prospects that verbal elsewhere that PSU calls to check on, listens to them indicate they would not like to be contacted further, and then honors the request.

There are other prospects that verbal elsewhere that PSU continues to recruit. The level of their recruiting actions varies, based upon a number of factors.

Gallagher is in the 2nd scenario I outlined.

So, he's a TE again? I thought the staff here had him as a future DT.
After the decommit of the Alabama DE it was mentioned that Barnwell could possibly play DE at PSU.

But yep, it sure is interesting that the article and the quotes from Barnwell sure focus on his career as a TE...... Guess that why sites have him listed as an "Athlete" recruit...... The other two TE's in this class sure look look to be solid at TE. Barnwell should buy into where ever the coaches want to get him on the field the soonest, and that may be at DE where his current reported size seems to fit in pretty well.......

I get this but frankly the pages should be flipped. When I go to the thread the latest news is on the last page... imo, that makes zero sense. Flip it such that the most distant posts are furthest from the front page and the most recent posts are front page news. [And yeah, keep the OP post as a header]. Not crazy about this format.

And it seems there are occasions where certain occurences (such as losing someone of this magnitude) should get its own thread.

Isn't going to change anything but those would be nice upgrades. imo, of course.
just fwiw, the default setting for me almost always takes me to the oldest UNREAD post in a thread if I click on the thread title as opposed to clicking on a specific page. Never changed any settings so I assume that is the default for most browsers...🤷‍♂️

Unless you open the thread without anything new being posted since you last visited the thread. Then it takes you to page 1.

@RyanSnyder recruiting is quiet. In season officials going to spice things up?

Interesting. He must have really done some good things recently to get the offer because I haven’t heard much about him here in Maryland.
I think it's more a case of... it's last call at 2 am, the lights just came on, and our options are getting very limited

No, supposedly kid is super legit. Showed up for fall camp 2 inches taller and good 40 pounds heavier (lean muscle, not bad weight) than last Fall and is absolutely killing it in practice against some D1 level dudes on the OL. He will be a national recruit pretty soon IMO This, of course, is bad news for us, we've never gotten a kid from St Frances. Let's hope we break that jinx this year, since Poggi is already gone from there.

Well, TAMU offered and last i checked, they seem like they maybe know something about evaluating prospects. Looking forward to seeing how he develops and hoping we can keep him happy and committed.

That stinks that he will miss his senior season, but he has a full year to recover before PSU. I’m pretty sure Dotson had a similar experience, correct?

KJ Hamler had a similar experience. He transferred to IMG and tore his ACL in preseason.

Any idea why he pushed back his commitment? Cold feet?

I don't know. In recent times, it's often because they don't have a video completed, or some other scheduling issue. He only pushed it back a few days, so I doubt it's much of a reason, but that's just speculation on my part.
