I am not biting my tongue with Cardoso anymore. She is just not good and it taking up too many minutes from better teammates.

My favorite part of the game was at times our bench outplaying our starters outside of Boston and Beal (early in the game). Going on runs with the quick pace of Raven in both the first and second half to stretch the lead :)

love her 'effort' and team mentality, but based on her performance last night, KF should have been one of the ones on the court during mop-up time . her play last night was pretty brutal.

Saxon at least secured a few O rebounds and put backs in her limited minutes.
Yeah, Fletcher continued to struggle on offense and Jada Walker was too quick for her to defend. Nika Muhl of UCONN is a bigger guard, so hopefully a better matchup for KF.

We really need 10 to 15 minutes from her. Raven can't play the whole game. There aren't many other options since Cooper hasn't been developed much this year.

Saxton did grab some offensive rebounds but failed to grab a single defensive rebound. In fact, she has only 4 defensive rebounds in the last 5 games. Total. FOUR. That's a crazy stat when you consider how good are defense is. She has plenty of opportunities for defensive rebounds, but she's not getting them. And, unlike with Fletcher, we do have a lot of other options in the front court than Saxton. Amihere had 4 defensive rebounds last night alone.

The start of the 3rd quarter was the first time I've seen Dawn visibly frustrated with our senior citizen starting lineup. She pulled Fletcher and Saxton early and brought in Raven and Cardoso. Boston, Beal, Zia, Raven and Cardoso is one hell of a lineup. I want to see more if it.

Less than 24 hrs away.

Interesting stat: last 4 meetings between USC and UCONN, the Huskies have failed to score 60 or more points in regulation. Last time they beat us in Storrs, they only scored 54 in regulation.

Last two games this season against Villanova and Providence, the Huskies scored 63 and 64.

So it's unlikely that UCONN scores 60 in our game, especially with all their injuries. The Huskies need a 20+ point 1st quarter, when they are rested and matched up against are so-so starting lineup.

If we're up when Dawn starts subbing in the 3rd quarter, I like our chances. Hard to imagine the Huskies staging a comeback with a short bench.

I would be lying if I didn't say I'm a tad nervous. It's still UConn and we're playing there. Even shorthanded you know they are going to play hard and will give us their best shot. I think we win this game and probably convincingly too but we got to come ready from the start and not let up.

Funny thing, I'm not nervous. It's when I'm nervous we tend to win the big games. go figure

It doesn’t matter if we win or lose, only our pride in a perfect season.

I'm glad we're playing this game, win or lose. Since we beat UCLA in a close one, our schedule has been the same as LSU's, for the most part. We need a test. Maybe we need change some things. Maybe not. Again, that's why it's important we challenge ourselves.

31-26 Uconn 3 mins left in the half. Scrapping back in the game, but we're ice cold from outside. And Cooke is having a bad half.

It's wierd. In the first quarter we didn't have anyone protecting the rim at all for some reason. It was all really high one-on-one defense and it was terrible. They drove by or passed backed door at ease. Once we put Cardoso back there to stay by the basket it was a much different story.

Zia is being guarded by UCONN's best defender and on the other end Zia is having to guard UCONN's best perimeter player. Big ups to Zia for not letting her offensive woes affect her defense. Lopez Senechal is only 2 of 6. That girl can ball. I imagine the plan was to put Brea on her some, but Brea barely played due to foul trouble.

Honestly, I don’t no why Dawn keeps messing around didn’t start Cardoso over Mother Goose (Victoria)! As of half time Cardoso have more points (11) than the starting 5 (10). Also, Raven and Fletcher rolls be reverse from starter to sub. Oh well, I guess that’s why our bench produce so many points when we have better players sitting on the than Victoria & Fletcher. Oh mine Raven is starting 3rd, but sadly Victoria is back!!!😎

Gamecocks win! 81-77 over #5 UConn. We made it interesting at the end with missed free throws.
Glad to win. I was out with family during the majority of the game and missed free throws near the end seem bigger, but statistically we weren't that bad. Man, we gave up a lot of points to them, though. Glad to win. Big to get a win up there.

I think we tricked UConn in this game. We gave them good looks inside all game, but they only took six 3 point shots.

Yeah, it's pretty obvious.

Playing "Starters minutes" isn't the same as being a starter. We let them score 25 in the 1st. That doesn't happen if Raven and Cardoso start. We win more decisively imo.

A win is win, though. At Storrs, no less. I'll take it.

The better players played when we needed them to. It doesn't really matter who starts. Today imo opinion we left Cookie in there too long while Hall hardly played. But I get why she doesn't take Zia out who's looking at this game as a big opportunity. Experience plays a factor as much as talent does.

What was the technical foul on Cardoso for? I didn’t see anything. Did she say something? I never heard the announcers give a reason. I think it was to make up for Geno’s.
