NCAA dropped the first NET ratings of the season this morning. We come in at 34th, which is higher than I expected (the NET loves those blowouts over bad teams more than most other ratings).

Tough to take a lot from yesterday's game. Konan was back to being what we've seen in flashes offensively, completely dominating on the inside. Buffalo let Dilione have wide open 3s if he wanted them, and he made them pay for it. Any time Buffalo started to make it interesting, we turned up the pressure and forced them into turnovers or bad shots. Ace didn't score much, but was awesome finding other guys.

This week, it gets real. Looking forward to see how Konan can handle the matchup with Kaufman-Renn on Thursday.

It was even more of a blowout than the score indicates as Purdue got hot from three in the last two minutes.

I think Purdue was overrated but it's still a big win for the Lions. Let's see how they do at Rutgers.
Yes, nice way to give a backhanded compliment. You were quick as well. Why couldn't you just say "nice win over a top 10 team!"

Purdue was trounced by Marquette and they needed a last second shot to beat Mississippi. So no, I don't think Purdue is a top 8 team.

Regardless this was a big win for PSU. This is the type of game we've lost in the past. Puff is playing better this year which helps. Konan has been better than advertised.

One danger is that so much relies on Baldwin. We're a totally different team when he's out of the game.

My guess is that PSU will be middle of the pack in the BiG. That's great considering analysts had us dead last.

But it's early with just 1 conference game so far. It's anybody's guess.

I like that so much relies on Ace because he is a ***** that I want in my Foxhole. He is hard nosed and relentless. Bring it on.

Up to 23rd in the NET this morning (and would have been higher if not for the Purdue late run in garbage time)...way too early for it to mean anything, but better to be starting from here than in an early hole.

Thought Rhoades did a great job last night going small and forcing Purdue to have to bring their 5 outside to defend us...Kudos to Puff for being able to handle their bigs at the defensive end, as he hasn't been forced to play much of the 5 for us (or NC) in his career.

The great thing is that we didn't even play our best last night (well, we played pretty darn well at the defensive end for the first 35 minutes)...Konan was quiet at the offensive end, and we turned it over 16 times. But you're going to win a lot of games if you can force 24 turnovers and go to the line 32 times (and great job making 28 of those 32).

Big test now on Tuesday night at Rutgers. Think we get a break getting them early in the season at the RAC, vs. later as their Freshmen continue to figure it out...but they REALLY will need this one.

Unfortunate that the game against Drexel (12/21 at 12pm in Philly) conflicts directly with the SMU game. I had been waiting to get tickets until I was sure that it wouldn't conflict with our playoff game, and disappointed that it does.
