I think I mentioned this on another thread, but I see Vince Papale & fantastic PSU athlete wife Janet quite a bit. We also get to see daughter Gabby a lot, which is great. For obvious reasons.

Interesting. I didn't know that the parents were in FL. They were long-time South Jersey residents, but I hand't heard much about them in recent years. As for Gabriella, the last I heard of her she was running game operations, or something like that, for the Sixers. Are they in FL full-time, or splitting time down there?

Janet is down here the most. Vince is in and out. Same w/ Gabby. Gabby's engaged to an FSU grad and sells real estate locally in Jupiter/Tequesta. Vince seems to do a lot of work for the Olympic Committee. Lots of traveling.

BTW - Janet is a PSU story in her own. Maybe one of the best female athletes the school has seen that no one knows about.

Yeah, Vince gets all the notoriety, and his story was huge in the Philadelphia region in the 70s/80s. But as you noted, Janet was an amazing athlete at PSU -- she certainly had more success in college than did Vince.

@s1uggo72 -- the short version (@MtNittany can expand on it if he wants) is that Janet was a PSU gymnast who made the USA team and competed for them for 3-4 years (she missed the Olympics due to an injury). She then got injured (I think it was the knee; not certain), and her gymnastics career at PSU appeared to be over. But after rehabbing, she decided to utilize her gymnastics training for PSU swimming as a diver. She set many of the PSU women's diving records in the 1 meter and 3 meter board. After that, she coached gymnastics at State College HS, then became a roving gymnastics instructor around the world, and eventually became the gymnastics coach at Penn (University of), which she held for 12 years.

Howie took a lot of crap for the Reagor pick (rightfully so) but pretty damn good since that pick.

That’s a stellar draft record. Stellar. The Reagor pick is scrutinized because he passed on Justin Jefferson.

What won’t show up on that draft line is the wheeling and dealing that netted AJ Brown with one first round pick. I factor that as an extra pick that makes this list even more impressive!

Excellent point on AJ. I think that cancels out the Jefferson miss.

There has historically been a lot of second guessing of Roseman as a GM over the years (not as much recently). He had some up and down years and was often accused of being a glorified fantasy football nerd. Are we now at the point where Howie is solidified as one of the top GMs? It seems like when he makes mistakes, he is quick to fix them (Carson Wentz, Jefferson miss, LBs, etc).

Jordan Malita has saved him in a lot of ways. Andre Dillard didnt work out, but Malita came through as a 7th rd pick (in the same draft). They got a top quality LT at a discouted price. I know he got a new deal, but alot less than other LT's of his ability have gotten. A position they wont have to worry about for a long time.
