141 final: Beau Bartlett vs. Jesse Mendez, Ohio State

First period
The wrestlers locked up a couple of time but otherwise a scoreless first.

Second period
Mendez down to start the second. They went off the mat once. Then Mendez gets out about seven seconds in for a 1-0 lead. Bartlet shoots and has an ankle, Mendez dives back in and gets Bartlett's ankle and they scramble as Bartlett tries to work around but can't get his ankle free and the period ends. 1-0 Mendez, end two.

Third period
Bartlett takes bottom. He's out at the 1:21 mark to 1-1. Riding time is not currently a factor. They tie up and then break apart again with 50 seconds left. Same things happens at the 30 second mark. Bartlett shoots on a single leg and drives through, and Mendez comes back to his feet. They roll and scramble on the edge, and Mendez counters and ends up coming all the way around and scores a takedown with four seconds left to take a lead over Bartlett 4-1. Penn State is challenging with one seconds left.

Beau went out and honestly let it fly. He got to his offense. It didn’t work out but if I am him I’m not disappointed. He took it to Mendez and was on the wrong end of an amazing scramble.

Because you see what Mendez is capable of defensively. You take ill advised shots against him, you find yourself down quickly.

You get ahead of Gomez, and he tries too hard for big throws, and puts himself in bad positions. I expected this from him earlier in the tournament, but he avoided it until the final

PSU nearly landed Teemer out of high school. Teemer is strong, and fast. He can be a tad sloppy at times, and that may be Levi's best advantage, as Levi is fast and very disciplined.

Should be a good match, IMHO
