All 3 USA women advance to the 100 m final -- two as automatic qualifiers, and TeeTee Terry on time (by 0.01 sec). A bit of a stunner in that multiple time winner in the 100, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce of Jamaica, did not run in the semis.

The PSUer moves up to silver on his last throw. I think he was in 4th place going into the last round.

The fact that Kovacs & Otterdahl were able to have their best throws in that rain was impressive. Was really hoping for Kovacs to finally best Crouser, but Crouser’s a generational talent.

Embiid getting mercilessly booed as USA beats Puerto Rico. James, Booker, Holiday DNP.

How’s this for a second team: Durant, Edwards, Holiday, White, Adebayo. Three NBA All-Defense.

The booing was because the Olympics are in Paris, and Embiid elected to play for the USA. He had the option to play for Cameroon, France, or the USA. He thought seriously about playing for France, and it became a battle between those two countries as to who he would play for. The head of France's MBB program, and the GM of their Olympic team, helped Embiid get a French passport, and the French President, Emmanuel Macron, personally called him to try to convince him to play for France. USA Basketball managing director Grant Hill also worked hard to get Embiid to choose the USA. Supposedly, he took over two years to decide, and ended up choosing to play for the USA. So, the French fans give him grief pretty much every time he touches the ball.

Here's the entire race of the 4x400 co-ed relay. The Netherlands started the 3rd leg in 3rd place, and started the 4th leg in 4th place. It makes Femke Bol's anchor leg run all that more impressive.
