Let’s go

I knew Dahl would be sent down but I didn't see the DFA coming. Apparently going 0-10 with 9 strike outs in your last three games played has consequences. I thought maybe they'd keep him for minor league depth. OTOH, since he has prior major league experience the Phils may have cut him loose so he can try to catch on someplace else.

When JT gets back, Marchan has to be the backup. Stubbs, we thank you for your service!

Probably the best move for him. He was really good earlier in his MLB career, but injuries have robbed him of some of his skills. The Phillies are looking at corner outfielders (reportedly). His leftie bat was working against him (in terms of being able to platoon with Marsh). But the biggest thing was that he didn't make the case that the Phils would be making a mistake to not keep him.

He would have been nice to be in the minors and called up if needed or in September. But he's looking to be on a MLB roster, so FA is probably the best move for him (though the rest of the league saw what he did while up with the Phils).

FWIW, the Dodgers have switched their starting pitcher for tonight. They had previously announced that it would Landon Knack (1-2, 2.86 ERA). Now they have switched it to Anthony Banda (1-1, 2:05 ERA).

With all the injuries they've had in their pitching staff, I give them credit for having as good a record as they do.
