PSU competes with previous PSU scores for titles, the other top programs compete for placement trophies.
Do you have a public source you can share? I don’t necessarily doubt your intel—I only ask because many lineup decisions in our recent past are revealed after the start of the season. Sometimes much later.
He will be wrestling a tournament in Japan in November and December. Imagine Cael will address it when asked at media day. Plan hasn't changed RS and wrestle next year as they fight for another year
I’ll be sure to ask him, thx. That all was my assumption/understanding for most of this offseason but there seemed to be some recent rumors of the 2nd year being closer to realization than previously stated.
No reason to doubt this but I’m surprised he would want to wrestle folkstyle 27-28 leading into Olympic summer.

If Blaze and Ono are both RS'g. why would Nagao/Davis be wrestling off?

Well rumor, conjecture, inside info or total BS will be revealed soon enough....maybe. Blaze gets 5 dates and he can still RS so seeing him early is not definitive proof.
However, Nagao's shirt is gone so he is burning a year even with a past medical. Davis, and I suspect Ono don't have that same true freshman 5 dates protection, so if we see either of them early on they are committed to the year, and burning their shirts.
Nov 14th, whomever goes at 133 and 141 could/should tell us 1/2 the picture (141).
I REALLY hope we get to see Ono early on in some open tourneys unattached. The anticipation is palpable.
Strategy and the unknown of Ono getting a second year aside, I really think it comes down to the coaches assessing whether or not he has the top and bottom game to go with Jesse Mendez. If Nick Lee can ride him like a pony, and get out at will, the case for a RS is very strong. We will see, but we have the perfect talent in the room to know pretty much exactly where Ono's transition to folk stands.
I would like to see Blaze RS and then run the table Zain like albeit for 4 years, but if you take a step back, 133 Blaze, 141 Nagao makes a lot of sense if Nagao can still manage 141.

LOL,I wouldn't count on it. This based on past history (many data points).
Willie’s Crystal Ball has Duke at 157 and just saw a Flo post saying Kasak registered for Bill Farrel. Tea leaves were strong for Duke going and Tyler RS. Now even stronger
Some here have been saying Blaze 133 and Duke 157 for awhile now.

Nagao will be fighting for the spot all year, I am sure, since he has no RS
As soon as Davis wrestles a match, he will be in the same position (at least for this year)
