Paterno’s 4 straight seasons of at least 10 victories from 1971 to 1974 is more impressive. Even the streak from 1980-1982 is more impressive.

Imagine what PSU could accomplish with a great coach like Matt Rhule, Brian Kelly, Lane Kiffin, Lincoln Riley, Luke Fickell etc.
Didn’t start playing 12 game seasons until 2006, so harder to do prior to - still, nice feather in the cap given it’s difficult to do even with 12 game seasons.

No doubt 10 wins is a very good accomplishment for any team.
I do think some fans and media types have underestimated the road victory over USC this year. That is a tough place to win for visitors. I think the USC road win was more significant than any other victory by Penn State.
Defeating big time, blue blood programs like USC means a lot. Hats off to Franklin for that accomplishment in 2024.

This is such obvious context that many here are missing. 10 wins in the years of 11 regular season games was a much bigger thing than doing it today with 12 or even 13 with conf title games.
