Seeing reports from several media outlets I will say one thing and I feel pretty confident in saying this. The Big10 and the SEC have told Clemson and FSU they do not want them. Recently on the Paul Finebaum show at the spring meetings Finebaum interviewed a national reporter and he said that the SEC and the BIG10 have told CU and FSU they do not want them. I know FLA does not want FSU and USC does not want CU. I feel confident is saying that both schools have enough votes to veto both of them. Probably the BIG12 is where both will end up. Just my 2 cents.

I've seen the same reports and feel the BIG12 is their best option.

I've seen these reports. They come off as plausible. They are also completely without authoritative accreditation or confirmation - even validation. I'm holding my water.

lol just like the sec wasn’t expanding.
Welcome our new members Oklahoma and Texas.
anybody that believes anything that any conference heads say…is simply not paying attention.
No way two of the top 10ish draws in college fb over the past 10 years don’t get scooped up by the Big or Sec.

It’s funny you think the schools dictate this. The one who dishes out the money makes the calls. That goes for the big10 to. I don’t care if they have the BTaA. You don’t tell the grantor of a billion dollar contract to go f themselves.

Noone said what you just said. We all know ESPN holds the cards but also part of the equation is the member institutions all have a say as well. FLA and USC both have made it clear and I mean "clear" as spring water that FSU and Clemson are not wanted in the SEC. Yes they both have enough votes from member SEC schools to not let either one of them in. You need to look at the bylaws of the SEC voting. Takes 3/4 members to approve a vote and FLA and USC both have at least 5 member SEC school to vote no. Those my friend are a fact not an idea.

I thought the BIG only took AAU schools! FSU is not an AAU school! The big12 is the number 4 revenue conference why would they take a step back? Their only move is the SEC, if invited or suck it up buttercup!

Not for long.

The Big 12 is exploring selling its naming rights to a title sponsor, with potential revenue of hundreds of millions of dollars over the course of the deal, sources told ESPN on Thursday.
The commercial sponsor would potentially take the name "Big" out of Big 12 and replace it with the sponsor's name. It could end up as one of the largest commercial deals in collegiate athletics history, not including media rights.

It’s not proven that they will only take AAU schools. The president of the conference has stated multiple times this is not necessarily true. Truth is NO ONE has a clue what will happen. Neither of the big 2 are going to get themselves into a law suit by colluding with schools currently under contract. The OFFER to join always comes after the announcement to leave the conference. All you have to do is look at the past 10 years.

Sir you have lost your mind if you think the state legislature, who have a large say on the USC board , is going to say no and cost another state school millions of dollars in income. It’s just simply not going to happen. If ESPN wants Clemson in the SEC for whatever reason, it will happen no matter how bad you don’t want it to. It’s really that simple. YOU DONT BITE THE HAND THAT FEEDS YOU.

You have no idea of the politics and the support that member schools of the SEC have for each other. Let me be clear USC hasn't taken anything from Clemson. They can stand on their own. Recently through several media sources it has also been reported that the BIG10 and the SEC are not interested in FSU and Clemson. I know you are a disppointed Clemson fan. Suck it up and you will see both FSU and CU joining the BIG12.

They won’t leave the ACC for the big 12 that is simply the big 12 blowing smoke. Clemson may very well not get in the SEC ( hope they don’t), but I can promise you it won’t be because a “no” vote came from USC. There is too much money at stake for the state for that to happen. Best we can hope for is they stay in the acc or go to the big 10. Although I don’t know if the later is really a good thing considering they would have slightly more money. Not to mention, they would have a better philosophy on tv contracts. What I mean by that is FOX is still mainly over the air programming. I’m not sure how espn subscription only is going to work out in the future.

Furthermore FSU and Clemson boards are composed of highly intelligent business minded people. Do you really think they would be willing to leave the ACC without at least some type of intel that they could move to the power 2? Doesn’t seem like a very smart business decision does it?

I also don’t believe the thing the media says, because they have no clue. They have been wrong so many times up to this point it’s not even funny. That GOR is not looking so iron clad when the language starts to come out.

If the SEC let Texas in over any objections from A&M, you can be darn sure they'd give as little consideration to our objections to Clemson joining.

True, but the main idea is to expand your media footprint (UT/OU), I don't see how adding another SC and Fla. school has any affect on expanding your footprint. Now a North Carolina and/or Virginia school, that's a different animal.

That’s arguable. Some would argue it’s about matchups people want to see. What brings more views usc vs GA or Clemson vs Georgia? Not only that sometimes you do things you don’t want to keep your competitors hands out of the cookie jar.

Well, you're getting ready to see and also what it's like to be 0-1! What's the current spread?

Couldn’t tell you don’t keep up with there spreads. If it’s not Georgia by 20 or so I’ll be shocked. It would have to be Georgia by 24+ before I would consider taking Clemson.

Didn't he say something almost exactly like that right before the Texas/OU announcement?
Look everyone knows you are a Clemson fan begging to get in the SEC. Lurker123 as sure as the sun comes out every day and the moon at night I promise you CU and FSU will never be admitted to the SEC. Like death and taxes this is something that I am sure of. The Big12 is your next landing spot.

So, lame insults aside, the question remains: Didn't he say something almost exactly like that right before the Texas/OU announcement?

You are correct. The dunderheads on here think it's all about football. The B1G wants UNC and UVa. The B1G and SEC do not want CU and FSU.
