I think we’ve given up on 2025. We should win 3-4 games next year. Lebby won’t survive unless we go cheap. We will go cheap & 2026 won’t be much better. Then we’ll do what we should have done this year.If we don't fire Hutzler - it's giving up on the 2025 season to me. And then does Lebby survive 2025 if we have another 2-10 season.
Because other schools will bring in 20 more players on scholarship who used to go to schools like State. And we’re poaching lower tier G5 schools to fill out our roster. What could go wrong? You guys better learn how new recruiting works. Those extra 20 spots that used to be walkons are the collective spots now. They're a walk on who gets to try to earn a roster spot basically. So who cares if we take him? Let the kid get his edit and come to spring ball and see what he can do.
Hutzler isn't going anywhere this year. It's simple economics. Our schedule isn't any easier next year than it was this year. We're looking at 3 (possibly 4) wins max next year. More economical to role with him one more year, than overpay for another DC next year plus still have to pay Hutzler. Schedule eases up some in 2026. They'll can him after next year and pay him his last two years of guaranteed salary (his contract is the most asinine thing I've seen us do in a while). It sucks, but that's how it'll go down.If we don't fire Hutzler - it's giving up on the 2025 season to me. And then does Lebby survive 2025 if we have another 2-10 season.

I think so too. We're not getting to 6-6 next year no matter how many coaches we fire and how much money we throw at recruits. Then we'll see what happens. Not sure how much the schedule eases up in 2026 though. It won't be a simple flip of the 1-7 rotation the SEC has put out. Non conference looks to be at Minnesota and Troy (both confirmed) and UL Monroe & Tennessee Tech (unconfirmed).Hutzler isn't going anywhere this year. It's simple economics. We’re replacing Toledo with a school that beat Notre Dame this season. Are we replacing AZ state and Toledo with e and w schools for the blind?
