Any regrets on Beamer instead of Chadwell?

Watching this game is painful. We are so bad. 90 yards at half. Im sorry but had we hired Jamey Chadwell, his offense would not be at 90 yards right now. And how can we have 8 or even 9 in the box and they literally run it right down our throats for 7-10 yards at a time. And the missed assignments by the OL, UK blitzes just come in untouched.

Just sad man. We look like a Sun Belt team.

It's not going to change until our fan base *STOPS* supporting mediocrity. Those of us in the non-sunshine pumper camp knows exactly what needs to be done. It starts with the firing of Ray Tanner. Then it progresses into cleaning house on the coaching staff. Every last coach, even the towel boys - need to hit the road. We need a competent AD who can make at least a decent hire.

But, we're never going to be rid of the 50% who say "He just needs more time." - Every single decade after decade. It's absurd. It's a mindset and our fanbase is simply too passive for anything to change.

Yeah. I wanted Chadwell. I saw he won big everywhere he went, and at places that were very average before him: D2 North Greenville, FCS Charleston Southern and FCS-FBS transition Coastal. His track record was proven and I bet he would have done the same here.

I know Chadwell would never go for it, but I thought we should give Chadwell the OC job under Beamer and pay him a couple million, which would be a hefty raise for him. It would also give him a prime opportunity to show what his offense could do at P5. If he revamped our offense, he'd almost have his pick of head coaching jobs after a couple seasons.

I think he would have. Coastal offered him their OC job to get him away from Charleston Southern because he kept beating them, and they were going FBS so he took it. He would have been a great OC at USC

We should be able to close it out from here. We have a couple of lickings ahead, but this should get us back on schedule to win six or seven in the regular season.
Hope you’re right.

We still have that massive Tillman problem, though. That’s the most important game every year.

I was pretty critical of the Beamer hire when it was made. But now that he's here, there's nothing to be gained from knee-jerk reactions. A bad game or two doesn't mean that he can't build something here and a solid win doesn't mean that he's our Saban or Dabo. The offense has been truly ugly to watch at times, but the team exceeded expectations last year and we're 4-2 this year. Stay calm and carry on.

Tanner F'd up by not giving Elliott a chance, instead he went with Muschamp and it's been downhill every since. When leadership is weak so will those who follow the leaders.
Ray could have hired Riley or Mack. Two known winners. Instead he hires a known loser. His excuse for not hiring Riley-he had no HCing ecperience but then hires someone with no HCing experience which seems like a good idea tonite.

Lincoln Riley backed out on his return to Norman and his meeting with Stoops. I would guess that we could have had Mack .

This school already proved they don't value that. Not being in the same league with them makes it easy for them to be that way.

We have a coach. Why post something like this other than to create dissention. I'm going to support the coach we've got. And some of you must be mind readers since you post that Tanner passed on Riley and Mack with no documentation to back it up..
OP joined the same day of this post. You do the math. You guys think I am lying when I tell you the taters have legions of fans and others paid by their social media team to join our fan sites posing as Gamecock fans. It’s called trying to maintain a recruiting edge. I wish we did it to them.

Chadwell might have been a good hire - he also might not have been a good hire. Power 5 football history is littered with guys who did well at a lower level, but then failed in the big leagues.

Chadwell will get his shot somewhere, but I’ll be interested in seeing what he does without his star QB.

For every Urban Meyer, there are hundreds of Sparky Woodses.

Overreaction and lack of patience leads to bad decisions on most occasions. We have examples from folks well known to us which demonstrate this well.

People forget how many truly ugly offensive games we had under Spurrier. He lost to Vandy 2 years in a row, and it wasn't in his first two years. It was year 3 and 4.

I think they are a lot of Tater posting. I think most of complaining when we were winning and finished the game winning were taters.

Would it be safe to say all posts that contain redneck grammar, misspellings and no punctuation are penned by illiterate, non-educated "taters?" THAT would be a tough call, my friends!

It's been awhile but I was thinking Riley came in for two interviews but our glorious AD passed on him because of a lack of HCing experience. I think Mack publicy expressed interest in the job. As for documentation, where is yours that my post was incorrect? A fan doesn't need to be a "mind reader" to see that Ray has hoof and mouth disease when it comes to hiring coaches.
His MBB hire may turn out ok but he should and probably could have gotten Miller if he really wanted him. I'm thinking his talking to Miller was just for show and to keep even more fans from demanding he be fired and he deliberately inserted a clause to PO Miller. If USC had a grade A AD, there is no way Xavier would have gotten Miller.

Nope. Beamer is making our program noticeable again. Getting us major exposure, making NIL moves, putting us in position to have our best recruiting class since 2007. I’m not sure Chadwell would’ve been doing that. Let’s not forget he took over a team who won 5 games in two years and his first year he won 7 games with 4 different QBs.
