Fed up not the best choice of words, perhaps better to say disappointed this is now the norm in our country and sad for my children that they must live in this culture…they are outnumbered but fortunately have the resolve to make a positive contribution at least for those in their immediate reach…So, just to clarify. You’re fed up?
I get it. I have teenagers. Some of the behavior of their age groups is eye opening and the acceptance of it by their parents is even more so.
I was there. Really punks. The cheer when they left was hilarious. My wife's first game.. Had to explain abt Tosu fans.+1 on the '05 Ohio State game its the only time I've seen, sans a pitt game, people thrown out and that was before the game started.
Only other bad experience I ever had in NEU was a really drunk Iowa fan at a white out that couldn't hold his alcohol or his bladder.
People can not sit the F down and stay in their seats at these games. They are not there to watch the games from what I can tell.Get back to me after you have to do it 37 times! And we left after the 3rd quarter!
New season ticket holder… 3 seats… brings wife and daughter to a game… right in front of ours. By their third game, wife is so fed up she says to hubby, loud enough for everyone to hear, “why can’t these people sit in their f… ing seats and watch the game!”People can not sit the F down and stay in their seats at these games. They are not there to watch the games from what I can tell.
Where are you staying? The high rise stuff is generally good. The one place that is popular but still working through issues is the Palm Pavilion. They are hopeful to have the inn ready for February. If you are staying in buildings where your room access is ground level, there are still plenty of places that are working on restoration. Some places had electrical all submerged so some are still rewiring new electrical.I didn’t realize you were in that area. Forgive my question, but do you happen to know what condition Clearwater Beach area is in following the hurricanes? Looking to visit in Feb/March. Thanks.
I wish my bladder had a pause button.Way too many people and too much alcohol. Not a good combo.
Big screen TV, recliner, loungewear, afghan, no other people, is how this BOOMER enjoys watching a game. And if ya gotta take a pee, hit pause.
To each their own.
Go Nits!!!!
I 100% would have accommodated them. I’m 61 and can easily climb around the seats, what’s up with you? Feels like you had season tix holder upmanshipI have been attending PSU games at Beaver Stadium for nearly 50 years and have been a season ticket holder for probably the last 15 years. I have been in my current seats for about 10 years. Unfortunately, I had my first negative experience at a game this past Saturday.
My son attended with me and he had a class that pushed our arrival at our seats at about 3 minutes after kickoff. When we get to the row, we have to climb over 6-7 people and when I get to my seats, there's two guys in them. Right away, they started by saying that they held the tickets to the seats in front of my seats and were there with the guys in the row behind us. (BTW, I didn't recognize any of the regular season ticket holders in any of the seats around me.) They asked if I minded if I took their seats. I said no, that I wanted to stay in my seats, that they were my season tickets. I didn't get to say much more because they got salty right away and moved up and started telling their friends behind us that they were gonna "stand tall" the entire game - and they did.
The real reason I didn't want to take their seats was that the seats in front of me have seat backs and I am 60 years old and wearing multiple layers of clothes. I was not going to be able to navigate down very easily. Nor did I want to go back out over the people I just tried to get around and do the same thing the next aisle down.
The next incident occurred at the first pick 6. One of the guys (both were mid to late 30's) turned around and started to high 5 his buddy in the row behind my side - he went right over my son with an arm on each side of my son's head. It was over the line in my opinion, and probably premeditated. My son gave him a forearm to the chest and they ended up having words. The guys were all saying that they were just celebrating, blah blah blah. The guys in front appeared to have a few in them and the ones behind were attempting to calm the situation down.
I would have gladly tried to have a reasonable conversation about my decision and probably would have changed seats if it was an hour before the game, but not at that time.
This may be why @laKavosiey-st lion doesnt go into the games. He fears my wrath.People can not sit the F down and stay in their seats at these games. They are not there to watch the games from what I can tell.
Would it have killed you to accommodate them? Look how the mountain you died on wrecked your nite.I’m glad to hear you are comfortable climbing around the seats at your age.
Yeah, I wanted to flex cause I have season tickets. You got me.
I took son1 to the uva PSU field goal game (College visit) Harry insisted we buy tickets beforehand ($85ea)This may be why @laKavosiey-st lion doesnt go into the games. He fears my wrath.
I think you still owe me for that ticket.I took son1 to the uva PSU field goal game (College visit) Harry insisted we buy tickets beforehand ($85ea)
the stadium was 20% empty and I couldn’t sell moms $85 ticket for 5 bucks. Harry and I philosophically disagree on in sradium etiquette
I agree, it did offer a lot. But over the past 10, maybe 15 years it really has slipped, to the point we have not been back.Ehh. I lived there for 30+ years and while I wasn't crazy about some of the people the city itself offers a lot.
The f ing 7 minute commercial breaksThis may be why @laKavosiey-st lion doesnt go into the games. He fears my wrath.
agree with that as well. The inner harbor was great and nice and bright and shiny but they let it rest on its laurel's and now it's slowing coming back. Fells Point has improved along with the new(ish) Harbor place. The art museum is an under appreciated. They are trying but I'm not a fan of the current mayor or much of the city council.I agree, it did offer a lot. You've probably seen the comment "human beings don't deserve dogs".People<Dogs and it isn't close

Gotta watch those 30 somethings who booze too much. My first move would have been to get an usher to settle things. But I admire the forearm to the chest by your son. That definitely would have been my second move if an usher wasn't available. I don't like disrespectful drunks, especially those who claim territory that isn't their's. Hope you never have an experience like that again.I have been attending PSU games at Beaver Stadium for nearly 50 years and have been a season ticket holder for probably the last 15 years. And we won. Can still see Tamba Hali steamroll the OSU QB. Great game.Sorry that happened, for me, everyone seemed to be in good spirits. I didn't see any problems anywhere.
But I am sure there were a lot of people who don't normally attend.
I did see at least one student who needed to be wheeled out by the emts because they drank too much. (I assume)
But that is not atypical.
The worst I have seen a crowd was 2005 Ohio State. The fans were in a salty mood they entire time.
He probably did it out of respect for you.I would have joined them in the high-fiving (normally do) if they weren’t trying to intimidate my son. That crossed the line. I was proud my son didn’t escalate it further.
Both, and more, like the pee-wee sports organizations that don't want kids to realize losing is a fact of life. You are not wrong. But who do you blame? The “kids” or those responsible for their upbringing?
Thank you for saying that. This is a great transfer portal thread. So, just to clarify. You’re fed up?
I get it. I have teenagers. Some of the behavior of their age groups is eye opening and the acceptance of it by their parents is even more so.
Very cute dog, look at those eyes.
She’s my grand dog. I take care of her on weekdays when my son- the doctor - is working. She’s a great dog. Those eyes talk to me with her emotions.Very cute dog, look at those eyes.
I attended the game in 2011 against Nebraska. U of N fans sat near us. They were gracious and respectful. Have family in Husker country too…they say that the fan base for the most part is very knowledgeable and friendly and respectful.
We went to the Delaware game as well and sat near some U of Delaware students who were funny as all get out. They were cheering for first downs and saying We are Hen State. They were cheering great plays by Penn State too and were respectful to my young daughter.
I remember crawling around Fells Point in 1976. The Greek Discos were a different world!!! A little later I rolled into Ledbetter w my polo and flip flops on. The bar tender was cool we all got along fineagree with that as well. The inner harbor was great and nice and bright and shiny but they let it rest on its laurel's and now it's slowing coming back. Correct, the current mayor is an *******. One of my good friends used to be on the mayor security detail for each of the last three, but he just couldn’t take it anymore with this guy and retired.agree with that as well. Wow I bet he has some stories. I have not been a fan of the past 4-5 Baltimore Mayors starting with O'Malley and don't even get me started on the last 4 or 5 Chief of Police.Correct, the current mayor is an *******. The beach is pretty good. A lot of the restaurants are finally back up. A week or so back the only two popular places that were still closed were Forlini’s (good Italian) and CLear Sky.
If you have specific places, let me know and I can post some pics of those if they aren’t up and running.
