This why duhO$U has the upper hand in the B10. Located in a wealthy white collar industry city where businesses shower the university and athletics with $$$. And a huge amount of alumni live in the surrounding metropolitan area to provide additional monetary support.

Completely different from State College and Penn State. Now that CFB has become a monetary battle for supremacy, Penn State is at a disadvantage and it will be separated from the big money players.

We all, every one of us, judge him. He’s the head football coach at Penn State and gets paid big bucks. Me: I have to wonder both if he’s up for the job and also whether or not anyone could adequately replace him, given the current NIL landscape and our feckless administration.

Easily within the Top 20 (though good luck finding reputable or reliable figures for that - and, though it is a factor in the near term, I expect most fans drastically overvalue the importance of that... among teams that are on the same general level of competitiveness).
If not, someone(s) is(are) failing miserably

On vacation in Nantucket.

But, an elite roster isn’t everything. Ask A&M.
Bama, tOSU, UGA, and others that are in the top 5 every year recruiting wave hello since we're doing anecdotal evidence. If the goal is to compete once a decade or two then being "elite" doesn't matter. If the goal is to actually be elite well, then it actually matters and you need to do it year in and year out as even the schools I listed lose games every now and then. They are at least in the mix consistently though which should be the goal long term. If the real goal is to win conferences and compete for MNC's then you need to consistently recruit in the top 5-7 or better. Not once a decade....every year.

I don't know man, I am down here in Miami: rich, excess, celebrities, national exposure, warm climate, jaw dropping co-eds who would kick off their britches at the mere sight of a potential future NFL player and the hurricane fans are scared to death that they can't financially compete with the big schools like FSU and UF who do not reside in such a geographic location. I don't think anyone really knows how this is going to end up. Plus I don't think it will become about luring players to your team as much as it will be not becoming the proving ground for your stars to land more lucrative deals elsewhere after the season at another school who can pay.

That's sort of my fear with the 2025 class that I am seeing being put together right now. These, for the most part, are not top 100 kids who are getting locked in to big time deals and are staying here for the long haul because it gives them a shot to win it all, plus the money, plus the NFL potential. They look like the kind of kids who could pull a King Mack if something better comes along after a year or two on campus.

If PSU was properly (i.e. frugally) administered, the financial implications of NIL would be inconsequential. PSU could have the most competitive NIL arrangements in the NCAA but they piss $$$ away on stupid stuff.

Players, parents and associates are monitoring NIL values regularly. It's a juggling act to keep most of what you have. Free agency with no rules or calendar restrictions. Buckle up.

Just a question, When I went to church retreat before we were married they say we need to give at least 15 percent of gross earnings to god. What percent exactly then should we give to nil?

Where will PSU rank in NIL money available? Because if you can't buy the players, you're just pissing in the wind.

I don’t think Washington or TCU fans feel that way. Neither school is a major NIL player, but they managed to defeat major power teams like Texas and Michigan on the biggest stage in college football (4 team play-off).
