without adult supervision. I don't have a problem with this.....

It seems there’s an indoor trampoline place in the same strip mall where parents drop their kids off and leave them for hours. Kids end up at the restaurant.

More businesses need to do this. My wife and I go to a coffee shop near a middle school once in a while. The place is mellow until 3 p.m. on a weekday. Then a hoard of 30 obnoxious kids comes in. They don’t curse or fight, but they run around, talk loudly, yell, etc. It’s awful.

We see the same thing at a Starbucks near a few schools.

Kids suck.

Better this way than what the McDonalds in Ft. Lee, NJ does. They close off the dining area entirely when the high school down the road lets out.
heck most McDonalds franshiees would love to shut the dinning room down forever, just have drive thru. They found during Covid that could make more money with less overhead this way. Staff costs went down, paper products cost went down (you got what they gave you in the drive thru) no more unlimited refills on soda or coffee, they loved it.

When I was in high school in the early 90's the big hang out was the local Burger King. At times there was between 10 to 50 of us hanging out. They hired an armed security guard and the rules were everyone inside had to be eating or drinking something, don't be a slob, and don't yell or curse. It was never a problem and everyone, including the business, was happy. If the crowds got too big outside he'd come out and break it up. He was very lenient with that because lots of us were buying food and taking it out to the parking lot. That business made a TON of money off of us because we were there nearly 7 days a week. These days we couldn't afford it, but that's another story.

My daughter goes to ballet in the Van Ness area of DC and there are a bunch of casual places to hang while she has class. I usually go to Surfside for happy hour and have a glass of wine. But, sometimes my daughter wants a muffin from McDonald’s from across the street. I hate going there. It’s full of high school kids at that time and the only schools I know of in the area are Georgetown Day and Sidwell Friends. I can’t believe these kids go to either of those schools but have no idea; they’re very loud and very much about being seen. Good for CFA.

My club had a rule that the nicer restaurant within the club had a "no under 16" rule. Regardless if they were with an adult or not. The market shifted towards a more "family" atmosphere, so they started letting kids in their as long as they were with an adult (not an older sibling). That lasted a few years, and now a group of adults want to bring back the "no one under 16" rule.

The group of adults who want this are the same group who pushed for opening the restaurant to under 16. Guess their kids are older now, and they don't want to be bothered with other peoples younger kids.

Don Lemon? I don‘t know how many of these kids aspire to a career in professional baseball.

I agree with you.... there is a Chik Fil A near a high school and local college where I live, and during the fall with Friday night football, there's tons of kids in the dining area carrying on, being rude, swearing.

I head to a sports bar, you should hear how loud these middle school kids get when they have had a few beers!

LOL....you have to be kidding. Gen X left their kids alone while both parents worked. We were literally kicked out of our houses so the Mom's that did stay home could clean and do their own thing. There are good and bad parents today....same as there ever was. This generational BS is just old men yelling at the clouds. Older generations didn't have their kids filmed 24x7 either. If kids cannot behave, the businesses are entitled to make these decisions. Behave or you lose privileges.

Yup. I always head to Chik Fil A on a Sunday for a Cheeseburger, Fries and a Beer.
I do that at Hobby Lobby on Sundays. Their parking lot is much more spacious than Chix.

You should hit it up on a Sunday instead. You'll get none of that nonsense. 😉

Chik-fil-a breakfast is so bangin'! Their biscuit sandwiches are great, eggs or chicken. The hashbrown bites are delicious, and the chicken minis are heaven in a box. It would probably be amazing on Sunday mornings when you're hungover from a night out and getting ready for a day of football, but the world will never know.

I'm sure this righteous sacrifice puts the decision makers there on the express lane to St. Peter's check-in kiosk.

I liked the Chicken Egg and Cheese Bagel better than the biscuit option but they did away with it. It held the hot sauce a lot better and didn’t crumble to pieces after a couple minutes like the biscuit does.

I've never seen that one. My one complaint about breakfast is somehow more cheese ends up on the wrapper than on the sandwich, every time.

My chic-fil-a is crazy; they have designed the whole building and lot to support this insanely huge holiday light show that you can see from space. They even have special bleachers put up for choirs to perform, fake snow machines, it's nuts. They have two lanes and have perfected lunchcrunch to maximize revenue. They are a force to be reckoned with.

Hell when I was 14 -15 I started working after school so I had money to actually do stuff on the weekends when not working or buy a car when I turned 16. I had no time to hang out after school. I think the main problem is common sense and common courtesy hit the crapper somewhere in the early 2000s.

I think there should be more restaurants with limits to having kids under a certain age. Not every place has to be for kids and not every person has to cater to someone's child.

The only downside to this is that regardless of age, some people are just never going to mature.

I bet some waiters would agree with this for seniors as well.
