Just came on my phone just now. Big 10 more prominent schoolsJust curious, but why?
Supposedly clemson is doomed if they stay in the ACC. And if they come to the SEC, they can't compete week in and week out.
Getting B10 money, and an easier schedule (than the SEC) seems like the worst case for us.
I see where you're coming from but if the ACC stays together Clemson is a guaranteed lock with the expanded playoff. If they actually have to play a decent schedule in the Big 10 they'll lose 3 games a year and won't make it.Just curious, but why?

We use to refer to these as blowup doll gang bangs…..nothing but hot airFla St has a virtual Board of Trustees Meeting planned for Aug. 2nd
Isn't the SEC still affiliated with CBS?Big 10 has rights split among several networks. If anything ever goes wrong with ESPN/Disney, the SEC is in trouble.
Not as of 2024. ESPN paid $3B for through 2034 for the rights to the CBS game.Isn't the SEC still affiliated with CBS?

I will say the way the B10 has structured it is very smart. Fox gets the noon window, CBS gets the 3:30 window, and NBC gets the prime time night game, “Big 10 Saturday Night”. They’ll all rotate championship game telecasts.
Nonsense. The sec product is better than anything the other conferences have to offer. They would just sell to the next bidderBig 10 has rights split among several networks. If anything ever goes wrong with ESPN/Disney, the SEC is in trouble.
I'm skeptical of the rumors, but it would be funny to hear what the "We don't want Clemson having access to SEC money" crowd thinks about them landing in the Big 10 and getting more money.

I believe Washington and Oregon are both AAU members, which has historically been a requirement for admission into the Big 10 (Nebraska was an AAU member at the time they were admitted). Now that UCLA and USC are Big 10 members, the addition of Washington and Oregon do not look as odd geographically as they once would have been.Hard to imagine any of those four being accepted by the Big 10. None line up academically and I don't see what the draw would be for the Big 10 outside of Washington's tv market.
There are much bigger fish out there in the ACC alone. You take schools like Georgia Tech and UNC and you get the academics and enormous TV markets in SEC territory.

Clemson and FSU are not AAU members, so that would definitely set new precedent for the Big 10.
Miami is in the AAU.
Miami is in the AAU.
Miami, UNC, GT and Virginia are all in and all make much more sense than clem and FSU.
Nobody is lining up to take GT though.
Everyone (almost) is streaming now. Don’t need the big networks for viewership anymore. Too big of a market, especially with the addition of Texas and Oklahoma. Not likely that ABC/Disney/ESPN would go anywhere anyway.BIg 10 inked an $8 billion deal with Fox/CBS/NBC. Who's left?
Big 10 bet the house on broadcast TV. SEC bet big on cable. Likely, both will be wildly successful. But all the SEC eggs are in one basket.
They took Maryland and Rutgers.Nobody is lining up to take GT though.

I’ll argue that over the next 10 years. Cable us suffering big time.BIg 10 inked an $8 billion deal with Fox/CBS/NBC. Who's left?

I doubt anything catastrophic is going to happen to Disney/ESPN, but Disney keeps pumping out box office flops and ESPN continues to have periodic layoffs.
You are on point with one of those.Miami, UNC, GT and Virginia are all in and all make much more sense than clem and FSU.

I don’t think GT is the draw as much as Atlanta - but you don’t get one without the other. Atlanta is the center of the college football universe and the Big 10 would love to plant their flag in the center of SEC territory. It almost makes too much sense for them.
You clearly need to look at the news. Disney is in big trouble.
Bad press almost monthlY
Box office flops
Decreased park attendance.
Layoffs left and right.
Sooner or later maybe these companies will figure it out but that discussion is not meant for a sports forum.
Perhaps. It's an interesting consideration. GaTech opens up the Atlanta market but they bring zero to the table football-wise.
Exactly, Hard to sell the market without a decent product to sell!I've said it before, it reminds me of the ACC getting the Boston and NY markets with Syracuse and BC. In the end, the lack of product was more impact full than the market.
