how do you know we DO have sufficient NIL funds? all Goat and others have to go on is results. And results say we suck donkey testicles on the recruiting trail. Which translates over to sucking donkey testicles on the field. So, either we don't have money to offer these recruits, or they don't want the boatloads of money we have.
Theres a recruiting problem and it doesn’t have to do with the money. Losing recruits to other schools when State is offering them way more money tells you all you need to know. There are some coaches on this staff that need to be gone just on that alone. Money is just part of the equation on getting players, you still have to recruit like you would do in the past and some of these guys are dead weight. Not following up with recruits AND commits. Not staying in contact with targets regularly. Just pure laziness. If we see some coaches gone at the end of the season I will feel more encouraged if not this is just a futile effort.

Know it was a big weekend.
Is this a serious question?

I’ll just go ahead and say that I don’t really want any players who are dumb enough to want to be a part of this program right now. I’m more interested in the decommits….those who we know are probably good and found a better opportunity.

The problem is there isn’t just 1 NIL number. Where we rank in cash on-hand can be different than where we rank in 2024 NIL spent compared to 2025 NIL spent, compared to ‘24 / ‘25 funds collected, etc.

I agree with you though. I have a hard time believing we’re anywhere other than #11 - #14 in SEC football commitment though.
I’m thinking more like #13 - #16. And, more realistically, #16 - #16.

The issue is we’re taking these guys on the cheap because that’s all we can afford. We’re in big trouble here. Best thing that could happen for us would be the top 30-40 schools break off inti a super conference & we’re not in it.
FFS some of yall are more emotional than women.

The problem with goats take and why you can’t take him serious is bc he’s an idiot. You know how I know he’s an idiot? He doesn’t acknowledge this isn’t just a TODAY problem.

this current problem of lack of talent started with leach and cohen. That is a fact. Arnett deserves blame and so does Lebby but a big portion falls on leach and Cohen.

#13 - #16 is correct. Apologies. Still had only 14 SEC teams on the brain in my earlier post.

Nobody knows for certain-it’s all hearsay and word of mouth. But I would assume we are at or near the bottom with Vandy and Mizzou.
From what I know about Missouri I would be shocked if we had more NIL money than they do, I would be willing to bet we don’t. My guess is the bottom is between us and Vandy and if the Vandy alumni base ever comes together and starts caring about football they have the potential to leave us in a distant last place.

Looks like we got a bunch of guys yesterday. All we can do is hope that our coaches hit on these evals cause if these juco guys can't hit the field and contribute bigly it's gonna be a long year again. At least it looks like most of them will be here for spring practice. I know errbody here thinks they are smarter than our coaches but remember it's their jobs that are depending on winning games so hopefully they are not sh*tting the bed.

Sounds like our academic hs recruiters here in Nashville. They don’t even compete for kids up here.

Our biggest problem is we have "decision makers" who believe they are the smartest people in the room, and they aren't even close to being competent.

Leach went 9-4 and died. You remind me of the, blame Trump for everything libtard crowd, somehow it’s always his fault derrr. Blaming a dead person who went 9-4 when he was at the helm last, for our current woes now is pathetic and retarded.

This is the dumbest post. Actively rooting against a team a program you are supposedly a fan of. Such a loser mentality

What you and others fail to understand is that Lebby had one class under him yet y’all think year one after the disaster of ZA and death of Leach is enough to turn a program around. Then you act like we didn’t get anything from the last recruiting class. Which we did and yes they cost money
We have the funds this year to be aggressive in the portal but news flash the portal doesn’t open til dec 9.
Last thing you don’t want to give fine. But that revokes your thoughts on the program. You can’t complain about NIL and recruiting and the direction of the program if you’re not willing to step up and make a donation. You are part of the 17ing problem.

Lot of projection in that post. But not surprising, coming from you. I'll be willing to bet you that I've given more to BI than you have, as well as BC and athletics in general.

Maybe so, that’s is appreciated yet the post wasn’t directed at you and others rhst give. It’s directed at those who don’t who refuse who encourage others not to give. Same one come on here and ***** and complain but don’t help the program

Take the emotion out of it loser.

I loved leach but leach didn’t recruit well outside of what he needed for his scheme. That’s a fact.

I wish he wouldn’t have died and we could have seen what he was capable of, but he left us in a bad spot talent wise. That’s a fact.

we have very little talent on defense. Couple that with a mediocre at best defensive coordinator and you get what we got now.

Then explain where all this talent is Leach left us…. Cause those kids he recruited in class of 21-23 would be JR Soph, freshman or RS. You want to throw out how great he was and how great he recruited we’ll back your sh!!t up 85

Hey you’re right, Arnett blowing up a 9-4 roster with the wing T offense and Lebby hiring Hutzler......it’s all Mike Leachs fault. Very convenient to pin it on the guy who passed away, makes me want to donate more. nice work.

Its been 2 years and Leach was 2 coaches ago. The portal is here. Rosters are completely overhauled every season now. You can’t blame Leach for what the roster looks like heading into 2025.

This is the dumbest post. Actively rooting against a team a program you are supposedly a fan of. Such a loser mentality

I’m not rooting against the program. I just don’t care. The current coaching staff is a hilarious disaster, and I legitimately can’t have much faith in the intelligence of anyone who can’t see that for what it is…..whether its prospective players, assistant coaches, or fans. And its just entertainment to me….not that deep.-

Blame whoever you want for that being the reality…..but there’s nothing you can do to change that reality.

I should’ve phrased that better. MSU alum have money to donate to NIL…. They just aren’t invested in MSU athletics as much as other schools alumni.
I was investing in Mississippi State athletics. But I wasn't seeing much return on my investment so I cut my losses last week.

Lebby only having a year doesn't excuse Toledo. That's what is going to be an 8-4 team from the MAC with losses to Ohio, Bowling Green, WKU, and Buffalo. The only team they have put more points up against than MSU is Duquesne.

It's not just a talent issue. It's a coaching issue. If our talent is so bad that we can't compete with a team that has a MAC conference record of 4-3, then that's still on the coaches because you should be able to put that much talent together through the portal in half an off season.

Thats really all you can do here is name call because your argument is so weak.
Actually my argument is sound. You haven’t really presented an argument.

name a player on this defense that leach recruited who is gonna be all sec?

name a player that transferred from msu that leach recruited that would have been all sec on defense?

Maybe 1 or 2? Maybe?

Better yet name a defensive player Arnett or Lebby signed in the portal in the last two years who has contributed in the last two years.

literally the only P4 team in the country you could say that about.

Underrated comment.

And its just entertainment to me….

And MSU Athletics has long been horrible when it comes to gameday experiences and customer service.

We’re asked to give and I wonder why should I give to a department that hasn’t demonstrated that they do the basic stuff right…

They have to show me that they’re competent and can act on things to attract my attention.

So you are proving my point.

they all share blame.

but Lebby took over this bad situation. It wasn’t like he inherited something great and then 17ed it up.

I keep reading all these comments about how bad NIL is and some say we’re middle SEC yet no one has given any proof of either. Just a lot of talk by, it seems, people who don’t have a clue or just think MSU is a worthless program. No proof, shut up. Like herding cats. You’re all tiring.

Just look at the recruiting rankings. #14 in the SEC. That's a pretty good approximation of where our NIL is.
