This was posted on the spirit by a poster that attended the OM senior camp today. Interesting what Crooms does to some of these players. </p>

"In between drills I was standing next to about six kids from two different teams (sorry - will not say who), and the subject had something to do with yet another teammate from one of the two teams who was not in attendance - an apparent committ to State that went to Starkville today. Anyway, the teammates of this non-attender were commenting about how the non-attendee was afraid to come to the Ole Miss camp because either Croom himself or his position coach told him that, and I quote, 'your offer would no longer be on the table' if he did. A member of the other team replied: "what is Croom afraid of? An Ole Miss assistant just told ten minutes ago to be sure and take all of my visits and to be absolutely sure of my decision (before committing to us) - it a great time in your life, soak it all in!'. And finally, yet another teammate of the State committ spoke up with "I know why they told XXXX that - if he came & saw this place (the IPF), no way is he going to State - and that (he gesters with a swath of one arm around the IPF) is what they (State) are afraid of. Players of both teams seemed to be in total agreement.

It was a great exchange!"</p>

Just thought I'd share. Well for one thing he's depriving the players a great time in their lives. Getting recruited only happens once in their lives. To take that away and threaten their scholarships is ********. Do you really believe that Crooms is such a great person that he wouldn't do this? He knows he doesn't have the resources to compete with other schools in certain areas and he doesn't want his recruits seeing something possibly better. I just think it's ********. If you don't want to believe the poster that's fine. It doesn't bother me.

Nobody is saying he does this with every commit. He probably knows Russell is as solid as you can get. He knows he can't really pull that **** with Cox because Cox has plenty of other options and if he pulls his offer he can go anywhere he wants. I don't know anything about Rogers.</p>

after committing to us. I'm calling ********. Maybe the recruit in question was McCray. That would add a whole different twist to the story.

I believe someone used the word "tactics", and they would be spot on. IMO, telling someone that is no different than, say, telling them they can play QB before moving them to RB, then to FB, then to LB (i.e.-Jimmy Johns) It's all a game. I'm still, however, not sold on whether or not Croom told the mystery man that anyway.

i will sleep a lot better knowing that I have your approval.

i am definitely not one who has drank the maroon koolaid and thinks that croom does everything by the book. but i do find if VERY funny that once he is doing well in recruiting that there are all of the sudden questions about how he goes about it from OM fans. it is typical and expected. don't you think it is possible that he is getting these recruits because he had a good season last year, won some awards, is fairly likeable because he is the underdog, and because it just so happens that his instate SEC rival had a dismal year last year? nooooo that isn't possible...he is cheating and depriving these young boys from a once in a lifetime chance to be courted by a bunch of other schools. that makes much much more sense.

i refuse to believe anything in life is that generic ... the guy making up this story could have at least tried a little harder. that fits an agenda way too well. [And finally, yet another teammate of the State committ spoke up with "I know why they told XXXX that - if he came & saw this place (the IPF), no way is he going to State - and that (he gesters with a swath of one arm around the IPF) is what they (State) are afraid of. Wow. A kid at an Ole Miss camp saying something, anything, to further his cause of garnering an offer or, more likely, an invitation to walk on from an SEC school.

What's next? 16 year old guys lying to 14 year girls for tit and *** play?

Keep us informed of all of the recruits that "the IPF" brings in after they get to Oxford.

OK, first of all why the hell would an Ole Miss fan be attending the Ole Miss senior football camp? Second of all, why the hell would the Ole Miss coaches running said camp allow the fan on the field to talk to the players? I'm just saying that this guy is either a high school football coach or is making this up. I'm going to go with making this up.

By the way, someone might want to tell this guy that MSU baseball has proven that you need more than just facilities to win. But hey, whatever makes him feel better about himself until Eli's spawn comes in 2025.

Ole miss fans pre-2007: "Haha, Croom picked up another 2* recruit today. What's the word on AJ Jackson? Will he qualify at Ole Miss? Hotty toddy, here comes a top 15 class for O." Ole miss fans post-2007: "Croom is wrong on his strategy not letting these young guys enjoy the recruiting process. Croom$ and M$U, etc. Recruiting stars don't matter." Its funny how things change.

When you dumbasses start whining, bitching, and complaining about the way he recruits, it's a sign he's doing something right. Hell, even if the story is true (and it really doesn't quite pass the smell test, but doesn't seem totally impossible either), it's not like Croom could keep you guys from recruiting the player anyway.

Have you ever been in the IPF? It's pretty damn impressive. It would be equally as impressive if it was on your campus whether you want to belive it or not.</p>

as can be evidenced by this photo of parents and fans at the camp. There were plenty of fans like the one above at the IPF today. There are other pictures as well. And by the way...nice jab there at the end and out of curiosity...what are state fans waiting on as they make themselves feel better. You guys have taken on the Orgeron era OM fan as far as recruiting is concerned. You're winning recruiting national titles in July. It's awesome.

who are you trying to convince? Us...or you?

Twelve months, Ole Miss fan didn't give a token **** about Croom. He was an afterthought, the soon to be fired head coach of your lesser rival. Today, Ole Miss fan takes every possible chance to take a swipe at him.

And I've been never been in your IPF, but I bet it's not nearly as impressive as my balls are. And that's true for whatever campus I'm on. B-E-L-I-E-V-E it.</p>

and could really give a **** less about the quote made on some Old Miss board that I'm sure is exaggerated like 1/2 of what is posted on Gene's board.... but my question/shock/interest is that a football camp for HS kids is open to the public? .. that's interesting and maybe ours is too but just seems that it would lead to way too many opportunities for illegal contact or stuff to happen to allow anybody other than coaches and parents... I mean even the pretend conversation we're discussing here seems like could have been one sentence away from an NCAA infraction...

weird.

Can we Hang our fake National Championship banner next to your 2 fake ones?

so how does your buddy on spirit know that the guys who said this had actually been to Starkville before? that they were comparing the OM camp to other camps they had actually been too? or was it their first camp and they were amazed at the difference between high school and college?

the story is total ********. it is written for homers like yourself so that you can go around feeling good all day. i amazed you have such thick goggles on that you can't see it. jeez.

We must be on the right track as a program when these kind of stories are coming out.

Heydog, keep up the good work. It's lots of fun to see you abuse moronic posters. It gives Six Pack a nice, nostalgic feel of how this board started out.

</p>First of all, nice picture of Xenareb and her husband.

Second of all, I'm not waiting on anything because I feel pretty good right now... mainly because we kicked your *** in football and won our bowl game. Let's see, you haven't been to a bowl, oh, since I believe Eli was under center for you in 2003. I think there was a book about it- Return to Glory? It really should have been called "Well, that was fun."

Next, your IPF looks like, well an IPF. Except you can play football AND baseball in ours. (Pissing contest)

As far as recruiting NC's- most of us know better. Don't let Goatholder's posts bother you.

14-32.

Based on that post I'd say a spot on the MSU football team is more important to our commitments than a tour of your little Taj Mahal. But if you want to believe one trip to Oxford is all it takes to turn these kids' heads, go ahead. It doesn't bother me.
