No wonder Croom is keeping our commitments squirreled away at Robert Elliot's sister's apartment.

Because that looked just like ours that we have for football and baseball and of course we have the Shira Field house also with another IPF with it.

Alabama: 110-yard facility
Arkansas: 100-yard facility. Good for everything but ``not ideal for high-atmosphere trick punting.''
Auburn: 40-yard practice facility
Florida: None
Georgia: None. Small facility approved.
Kentucky: 100-yard facility
LSU: 100-yard facility
Mississippi: 100-yard facility
Mississippi State: 100-yard facility
South Carolina: 60-yard facility. Practices in two shifts like Auburn.
Tennessee: 70-yard facility; two full end zones; expansion approved
Vanderbilt: None

Any reasonable fan would conclude Ole Miss is far superior and recruits from Georgia, Auburn, Florida, UT, SC, and certainly State are flocking to Oxford as we speak to see what they are missing out on.

This is a great list. I just wonder how Florida and Georgia consistently finish in the top 5 of recruiting without an IPF...

...I have yet to see most Ole Miss fans not claim to have a "National Championship" recruiting class. They have won more pre-season National Championships than any other school in the country. Now, it seems your crowd is seeing Coach Croom and MSU having a recruiting class you Rebs would oil up and hump yourselves over, and it has made you feel like you have ED. Your followers are starting to use Mi$$ $tate, Croom$, and making sucking noises, because you miss the annual anal lube job, that gave you a "happy feeling."

By the way, our Compliance Director, Bracky Brett, would never allow "fans," to talk to recruits at a camp. He knows it is a clear violation of NCAA "improper contact" rules. Diamond Reb, I would hope, in a sense of respect for the NCAA rules, you would send this post and pictures to the NCAA.

Also, almost all of our committed recruits have attended camps after their commitment. Coach Croom has changed his philosophy on that. He wants truly "committed" Bulldogs. Tyler Russell and Chris Smith were both offered by Alabama after attending theirs as MSU commitments. Pat Patterson, Nickoe Whitley, Josh Hollingsworth, Anthony Rogers, and I assume others, have also gone to 7 on 7 camps. They have also done a little group recruiting while they were there too.

Based on that post I'd say a spot on the MSU football team is more important to our commitments than a tour of your little Taj Mahal. But if you want to believe one trip to Oxford is all it takes to turn these kids' heads, go ahead. It doesn't bother me.

Sign me the @@+% up for that juggernaut of a football team. Give me a break huh. I thought you people weren't sheep. I don't think one person on here has actually acknowledged that it's possible that saint croom could actually pull this. Or that he could do any wrong in recruiting now days. Mighty wooly.

tends to work best in an indoor environment. Now if we had a team of futuristic turf engineers I'm sure we could have some form of real grass. This wasn't a thread to start a pissing match over who has better football facilities. I thought that was pretty clear. Like the hump is better TadSmith and Dudy used to be better than Swayze. It's just common sense.

Take this **** back to the "spirit" board or wherever the hell you came from. This ranks near the top of the "worst threads ever" list...

Croom doesn't want his recruits to come to umiss b/c of an Indoor Practice Facility... Anybody that even entertains this idea is dumber than a box of rocks. I think it's high time that dumbasses like yourself realize that Pete Boone was blowing smoke up your asses when he was raving about your "magnificent" facility.... IPFs are good for practicing while it's raining... nothing more and nothing less.

State had an IPF 35 years BEFORE Ole Miss, and it was never that big a deal.

As far as Fla. not having one, Urban Meyer(sp), doesn't like them. He had one at Utah and wouldn't use it. He said they played outside, not in the IPF.

If you had a good one you wouldn't say that. Yeah the recruits never comment on facilities. That never happens.

....to someone who believes that:

- An IPF, of all things, is THE reason Croom doesn't want his players to visit umiss

- umiss's IPF is top notch, while M-State's is far from it

- recruits sport wood over an indoor practice facility (only a "good" one, though... not like the one in StarkSville)

Would you care to explain how Nutt can't get anybody in this state to commit to him while y'all have this tremendous, insurmountable advantage? It just doesn't add up to me!111!!

The idea of the post is not just the damn IPF. Its forbidding the recruit from visiting the campus. Certainly the facilities are part of it including the IPF and the Fed-Ex academic center. But they don't get the chance to meet the coaches see the town and everything the school has to offer. This goes with any school the recruit if forbidden from. Croom is doing well in recruiting as well he should be. He's got the relationship after four years with highschool coaches and players. Nutt simply doesn't. It would really be something if Croom couldn't do what he's doing in recruiting. But if this story is true then I'm just saying I think it's ********.

Thats because we've already established you are full of ****. How convenient of you to ignore this exchange:
DiamondReb: Nobody is saying he does this with every commit. He probably knows Russell is as solid as you can get. He knows he can't really pull that **** with Cox because Cox has plenty of other options and if he pulls his offer he can go anywhere he wants. I don't know anything about Rogers.

biguglykidjoe:You can add Josh Hollingsworth, Chris Smith, Nikoe Whitley, and Montez Phillips to that list as well. That should cover all the talent levels. ********.

Nobody is acknowledging it because it isn't true. Everybody is taking visits if they want. I'm sure this still goes right over your head though. Jesus you're a dumbass.

to practice in order to get the athl admin to start thinking about one...

so is it against NCAA rules for fans to talk to recruits at camps or not?

that Croom doesn't do this with recruits, he does this with commits. He has openly said that if a committ is looking around, we are looking around. Oh, I am sure Croom is shaking in his boots over Mississippi's IPF, guess we are going to have to settle for Nutt's leftovers. That is if he ever decides to recruit in-state.

how much do you believe your initial post?

I have no reason to believe that this poster made the story up. It was posted on one of premium boards and not the free board which makes it more believable to me. Yancy told us on thursday that the coaches were working on getting two big time recruits to campus that many thought we were out of it for. He then said on Friday that only one of those was coming (that was Bumphis). He didn't comment further on the other, who it was, or why he wasn't coming. My question to you is what makes this so hard for you to believe?

Diamond, it sounds like you have a little man crush on these recruits. And are you honestly comparing Swayze to Dudy? It must be nice living in Never Never land, maybe I can visit when I need a break from reality.

Because this:

"what is Croom afraid of? An Ole Miss assistant just told ten minutes ago to be sure and take all of my visits and to be absolutely sure of my decision (before committing to us) - it a great time in your life, soak it all in!'. And finally, yet another teammate of the State committ spoke up with "I know why they told XXXX that - if he came & saw this place (the IPF), no way is he going to State - and that (he gesters with a swath of one arm around the IPF) is what they (State) are afraid of.
sounds like the most contrived conversation ever, like bad fiction writing by an out of touch 50 year old.
